I was laying down comfortably on my parent's couch. Damn, their couch was so much more comfortable than mine, I'll ask eomma where she bought it.

My train of thoughts were interrupted by a sudden opening of the door and saw my younger brother bursting inside the house while trying to remove his shoes. When he finally succeeded in removing his shoes, he made his way to me and sat on the couch.

I dramatically pinch my nose and look at him with playful disgust. "Eww, Jungkook, you smell."

Before he could reply, my mom made her way to the living room.

"Finally you came, go and shower Jungkook." My mom said with a stern expression.

Jungkook lazily got up from the couch and made his way to mom and hugged her. " Eomma, I'm so tired. Can I eat first?" He whined which made me scoff, mom is not going to let him eat without showering.

Mom rolled her eyes but couldn't resist Jungkook's puppy-dog look. "Fine, but quick shower, and then dinner."

Jungkook grinned victoriously, giving me a triumphant look as he headed to the bathroom. I shook my head at his antics. Some things never change.

With Jungkook occupied, I decided to take advantage of the peaceful moment and check my phone. As I scrolled through messages, one particular chat caught my eye. It was Taehyung.

Taehyung: Hey, how's your evening going?

I smiled, feeling a warmth spreading through me. Taehyung had a way of brightening even the mundane moments. I quickly typed a response.

Me: Lazy evening at home. Jungkook just barged in. How about you?

His reply was almost immediate.

Taehyung: Dealing with some work stuff, but thinking about you. Want to grab coffee tomorrow?

My heart did a little somersault. Taehyung's ability to mix business and pleasure always intrigued me. I replied,

Me: Coffee sounds perfect. Looking forward to it.

Just as I sent the message, Jungkook emerged from the bathroom, looking considerably fresher. Mom was already setting the table for dinner.

The atmosphere in our home was always lively, filled with laughter and shared stories. As we sat down for dinner, I couldn't help but feel grateful for these moments of normalcy amidst the whirlwind of my professional life.

Jungkook, in between mouthfuls, started recounting some amusing incident from his day, and soon we were all laughing. It was in these simple moments that the essence of family and belonging truly revealed itself.

Later that night, as I lay in my childhood bed, I thought about the upcoming coffee date with Taehyung. The contrast between the familiar comfort of home and the thrill of something new and uncertain created a delightful anticipation.
