Bracelets
"Aello, You're birthday is coming. Kunting tulog na lang" Sambit ko. Tumango siya ng hindi naka tingin sa akin. "May gusto ka na bang gawin?"
He stopped writing on his paper and focused his all attention on me.
I cleared my throat. I hope I am not disturbing him. "Oh sorry, Tapusin mo muna ginagawa mo" Ngumuso ako at tinuro ang binder niya.
"I thought I told you already... a month ago?"
"Ahhh! Hindi mo naman sinabi ang gusto mo"
"Sinabi ko" He raised his brow at me. Tiningnan ko siyang ng masama. "Stop trying..." pinisil niya ang tungki ng ilong ko. "Ikaw lang gusto ko sa kaarawan ko, Aruna. I only want to spend my time with you, alone, together, the whole day" I smiled and nodded.
"A picnic then?" Tanong ko.
"Sure"
I excitedly clap my hands. I can't wait!
"Aello..." Tawag ko sa kalagitnaan ng kanyang pag susulat. I sipped on the Chocolate drink he bought. "This is so sweet, I like this"
"Hmm"
"I want to know... you're future. What do you want to become?" I asked. Binitawan niya muli ang ballpen at humarap sa akin.
The sky which is slowly turning gray is watching us. Humiga ako sa damo. He watched me make myself comfortable with the grass.
He sighed and took his jacket off. He covered my body with it. Ngumiti ako sa kanya. Humiga siya sa tabi ko. Dahan-dahan niyang inangat ang ulo ko para ipatong sa mga braso niya.
"Aeacus Lovan Cortez, ang ganda ng pangalan mo" I whispered. "Now, tell me, Mr. Aeacus Lovan Cortez, what is your dream? What do you aspire to become?"
"I honestly don't know, Aruna. But now that you're here all I want is to see you besides me" He whispered back. "All I want is you in my future"
"All of this is happening so fast, Aello. I'm still not sure kung anong nagustuhan mo sa akin. It's still a mystery"
"Hindi ko rin alam, Aruna"
"Then-"
"The first time I saw you was years ago. I don't if you can still remember... I am 10 years old, and so are you... Dinala ka ng Tita mo sa "Home is Us" You were cute but ang sama ng tingin mo sa mga bata" I still remember! Yun din ang unang punta ko sa Orphanage, after my parents died. Tita told me we would just visit her friend. "I overheard Sister and her talking, she was about to leave you there" Nanikip ang dibdib ko.
I know that already but it still hurts.
"I prayed to lord god. I prayed na sana hindi, na sana wag ka niya dun iwan... I thought you would bully the other kids" He laughed a little.
"Wow! That's mean" I glared at him.
"I'm sorry, baby. I'm sorry I think of you that way... You were trying to look brave and strong. You're almost glaring with everyone in the Orphanage. It doesn't suit you, but you were cute"
"I don't look good when I glare?" Tanong ko.
"You look cute" Hinawakan niya ang kamay ko. He played with my thumb using his thumb. And It is enough to send me thousands of butterflies. "Sana iniwan ka na lang niya sa Orphanage. I wish I didn't pray" He whispered while looking in our thumb.
