San's POV
San was immersed in work not paying any attention to time. It was almost 11 PM and he was still in the office dealing with the worksheet. Suddenly his phone lit up catching his attention. "Dad," said the caller. The man furrowed his brows. He knew exactly how the phone call would go if he answered, They'd end up arguing as always so he declined the call only for his phone to ring again after several seconds. San let out an annoyed sign as he grabbed his phone harshly ready to decline again but stopped as he saw that it was Nabi who was calling this time. Million thoughts occupied his mind about why the girl would call him this late, what if she was in trouble?
He immediately answered the phone. "Is everything okay?"
"Where are you?" Nabi asked, ignoring his question.
"At work, where are you?"
"At home."
"Oh," Hearing that made him feel relieved. "Why are you calling this late? I thought something happened to you,"
"Not you worrying about me!" the girl teased, smirking. She really never missed a chance to mess with him.
"I'm hanging up."
"Wait wait! What are you doing at work this late?"
"Working?"
"I thought we would eat dinner together though, I'm still waiting for you."
"When did we agree on that?"
"I mean you didn't but c'mon you know I can't sleep on an empty stomach!"
"How would I know that? all you do is eat my food all the time."
"Be here in 10 or else."
"or else what?"
"Oh c'mon, I'm starving!" The girl whined making San laugh. thinking about it he did feel exhausted and hungry.
"Okay fine I'll be there in 20," he said and hung up before packing his things and leaving. Talking to Nabi seemed to clear his mind from angering thoughts about his father.
It only took him 15 minutes to drive home. San felt a little too tired to cook now but knowing that Nabi didn't eat, waiting for him he felt more motivated to stay energized just for a little longer. He reached the top floor and walked to his door but he didn't get to unlock it because Nabi opened her door first and yanked the man in her apartment.
"Did you just kidnap me?" San joked before he looked down and realized she was still holding onto his hand.
"Yes I did and now I'm planning on poisoning you as well!" The girl answered oblivious to the man's flustered look.
She dragged him to the kitchen before letting go of him. "Why are you speechless? Me cooking is actually not that rare!"
"No, I'm not speechless, I'm more worried that I'll actually get poisoned."
"And here I thought I would be kind and cook for you since you're tired," The girl said, rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms causing San to snort.
"No, no I actually appreciate it, I really didn't feel like cooking tonight." he smiled genuinely catching the girl off-guard.
"Do you know that fairy tale about the boy who kept lying to other shepherds that wolves were attacking the village but once they actually did attack him nobody believed him anymore?"
"No?"
"That's literally you but with being nice, you're mean and sarcastic so often I can't even tell anymore when you're sincere."
