"So what are we cooking?" The girl asked as she laid her head on San's shoulder, looking down at the vegetables he was cutting.
San halted for a second, not expecting the close proximity, before continuing cooking. "I'm making scrambled eggs with vegetables," He answered without taking his eyes off the cutting board, "You really need to do grocery shopping you know, there's barely anything in your fridge."
"I've been at home for days, that's why. I have a concussion don't you remember?" her reply made the man chuckle, confusing her. "Why are you laughing?"
"You're saying that like you used to do groceries all the time before you got a concussion."
"Excuse you?! I did!"
"Yeah sure," San scoffed, "I was the one always ordering the food instead of cooking then, right?"
"Yep."
"Mhm, sure! Sorry"
"For your information, I'm a great cook, I just don't have enough time to do it!" The man let out another chuckle at that.
"Of course,"
"I'm being serious." She said while crossing her arms.
"I know you are."
"Why do I have the feeling that you're being sarcastic?"
"Hm..." He put his finger on his chin, acting like he was deep in thought "Maybe because I am?"
"Hey!" Nabi pushed him lightly, but she couldn't help but laugh too.
"When are you going back to work?"
"I don't know the sooner the better, December is a pretty busy month for us but technically I'm still working from home so I'm not missing out on anything."
"You've been working?"
"Of course,"
"Nabi how many times-"
"I know, I know you shouldn't look at screens for too long when you have a concussion so I didn't for a couple of days but I think I'm better now, my head doesn't hurt anymore and I don't feel nauseous."
"Well, You could've waited at least for a whole week"
"Aww is Sannie worried about me?" Nabi asked with a smirk on her face, teasing her neighbor while poking his arm. San only scoffed in return but that reaction didn't satisfy the girl so she continued poking him while grinning, "You're so cute, you care about me that much?!" her grin was immediately wiped off of her face when the man turned his head towards her, causing their faces to be only inches apart. The eye contact brought a red tint to the girl's cheeks, making her feel shy. She tried to look away but it was unsuccessful, San let go of the knife he was holding, and his hand gently grabbed her chin causing her to look straight at his face.
"Not feeling like teasing me anymore?" He asked with a slight smirk adorning his face.
Nabi's heartbeat got so loud she was hoping the man, standing not even a step away, couldn't hear it. although 99% of the time San used to ignore her teasing and flirting, it was moments like this which bewildered the girl. It all felt so... disparate.
If you asked her why she felt so flattered she wouldn't be able to answer, it's not like she could help it either. San has this effect on her that she can't quite describe. Perhaps Yunho was right, what if she really likes him...
"Did you swallow your tongue princess?" He asked as he stepped even closer causing the girl to bump into the wall. their bodies were touching and their eyes remained on each other.
Until now Nabi didn't know if she could trust the information she read online, however, one time she read somewhere that prolonged eye contact has been thought to release phenylethylamine, a chemical responsible for feelings of attraction, which proved the information is definitely accurate.
But it wasn't only the eye contact, it was their bodies brushing to each other, it was his hand gently holding her chin, it was his other hand, which slid its' way through her waist, it was everything combined, just San in general.
The girl wondered if his heart was beating as rapidly as hers if his mind kept telling him to go in for a kiss just like hers did. Or maybe he was just messing with her like usually she does. Maybe it was just a payback and nothing more.
"San," she managed to let out a whisper, not daring to speak louder than that.
The man's eyes dropped down to her lips, "Hm?"
'Maybe just a kiss won't do any harm' the girl thought, slowly leaning in, the man doing the same, but before their lips would touch a loud banging on the door caught the two off-guard. It ended up being enough for the girl to realize what was currently happening, what she was doing.
Nabi's eyes widened as she swiftly pushed her neighbor away.
"I'll get that." She muttered quickly before walking to the door, leaving San baffled.
'What did just happen...'
"Yunho?" The girl asked her friend who was standing in the doorway with a perplexed expression, "What are you doing here at this time?"
"Nabi. You won't believe what I went through today." He answered, his eyes wide like he'd seen a ghost.
"What happened?!"
"I decided to go to Hyunmi's since I was bored, thinking hmm, she's probably in her bed watching gossip girl as usual, I'll join her, chit chat, this that, but." he stopped dramatically, placing his hand on his chest, "Little did I knew."
"What? what? WHAT? just say already!" The girl exclaimed feeling too impatient.
"Guess who opened the door when I got there."
"Who??"
"Wooyoung."
"..."
"..."
"Ugh, Yunho! Is that it? I thought it would be s-"
"He was half naked."
"WHAT?!"
