After seeing how worn out Soojin was, Nabi decided to let her rest. Yes, she didn't support her decision, or how could she, knowing it was the biggest mistake the girl had ever made, but she knew she couldn't change her mind right now so she led the girl into her bedroom lying her on the bed and covering her with the warmest blanket. It was raining outside, almost like nature could empathize with the broken woman. Nabi sat beside her for a while, caressing her hair gently, trying her best to calm the girl down even a little bit.
Meanwhile, Seonghwa had been searching for Soojin everywhere. He visited her parents' house, called her other friends, and even checked their favorite spots around the city. As the rainy, cold night wore on, his desperation grew. He couldn't bear the thought of his wife being out there somewhere, alone and hurting. Finally, he decided to go to Nabi's house, hoping with all his heart that she would be there.
His clothes were soaked and his breath was visible in the chilly night air while his mind raced with worry and fear. When he reached Nabi's door, he knocked frantically, his heart pounding in his chest. Nabi opened the door and was met with his broken expression, his eyes pleading, silently wishing that Soojin was there and not somewhere unsafe.
"Is she here?" Seonghwa asked, his voice trembling with a mix of hope and desperation.
Nabi nodded, a small, reassuring smile forming on her lips. "She's here, Seonghwa. She's in my bedroom, resting."
Seonghwa let out a sigh of relief, his tense shoulders relaxing slightly. He thanked Nabi before hurrying inside, his footsteps echoing softly in the quiet house. He made his way to the bedroom, his heart still racing, but now with a glimmer of hope.
When he entered the room, he saw Soojin lying on the bed, her eyes red and puffy from crying. The moment she saw him, she sat up immediately, her expression a mix of surprise and worry.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice shaky.
Seonghwa walked over to her, his eyes filled with concern and love. He knelt by the bed, taking her hands in his. "I was so worried about you, Soojin. I needed to find you. I couldn't bear the thought of you being out there alone."
Soojin's eyes brimmed with fresh tears as she looked at her husband, his drenched clothes clinging to him. Seeing him in this condition the woman felt even more guilty, "I'm sorry, Seonghwa," she whispered, her voice cracking. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to run away. I just... I couldn't handle it."
Seonghwa shook his head, his grip on her hands tightening. "Don't apologize, Soojin. I understand. This is hard for both of us, but we need to face it together. You don't have to go through this alone."
Soojin's lower lip trembled as she slid her hands away from his, " I can't do this to you Hwa... I can't give you anything, I can't give you the family that you want..."
Seonghwa reached up to gently cup her face, his thumb wiping away her tears, "You are my family, Soojin. You're the most important person in my life. We can find other ways to be parents if that's what we decide. But I can't lose you. We need to face this together." the desperation and fear was visible in his voice as he pleaded with his teary eyes.
Soojin shook her head, pulling back slightly. "No, Seonghwa. You don't understand, you don't deserve this."
Seonghwa's eyes widened with shock and hurt. "Neither do you Soojin! Please Don't do this to me, don't do this to us!" his voice raised as the woman just shook her head in denial, more tears escaping her eyes, "I don't want anyone else Soojin. I want you."
Soojin's voice trembled as she continued, "I'm holding you back from your dreams and it's hurting me too Seonghwa, oh god it hurts me so bad" the woman sobbed.
Seonghwa took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving hers. "Soojin, my dream is to be with you. Everything else comes second. Yes, having children would be wonderful, but not at the cost of losing you. I love you, and that's what matters most to me."
"I can't help feeling like I'm failing you, Every day, I help other women become mothers. And now... I find out I can never be one myself. It feels like the universe is mocking me."
Seonghwa's heart ached for his wife. He pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her as she sobbed. He couldn't help but start crying as well, seeing her wife in this situation was the worst sight for the man. "Soojin, you're not failing me. This isn't something you have control over. We can find other ways to have a family if that's what we decide together. But please, don't push me away. We need each other now more than ever... I need you now more than ever Soojin please..."
Soojin's sobs quieted slightly "I'm sorry..."
Seonghwa cupped her face in his hands, his watery eyes filled with love and determination. "We can get through this together baby. You're not alone in this, you never will be, you hear me?"
Soojin's resolve began to waver as she looked into his earnest eyes. "I'm so scared," she whispered.
"I know," Seonghwa replied gently. "But we'll face that fear together. I'm not going anywhere, I promise you that."
They held each other tightly, the weight of their emotions heavy but shared. The storm outside continued to rage, but inside, they felt calm in each other's arms. They knew the road ahead would be difficult, but with their love and support for each other, they felt ready to face whatever challenges came their way.
