"I don't do relationships?" Soojin laughed but stopped immediately after noticing Nabi's straight face, "oh... Did you seriously say that?"
"What kind of a fuckboy are you?? The fuck?" Hyunmi exclaimed.
"Can Y'all stop bullying me for a second and help me?"
"No?"
"Okay but seriously, I knew you were a simp for him but San likes you too? Not you pulling hot men" Yunho said before continuing to eat popcorn he made in Nabi's kitchen earlier.
"Excuse you bitch?! I can pull whoever I want!"
"Pull but not commit to!"
"I'm about to kick you out of my apartment" The girl threatened as she threw a pillow at the man.
"Okay okay, guys let's take things seriously!" Soojin interrupted the two, "Do you regret turning him down?"
"I didn't turn him down though."
"But you did?"
"No it wasn't like that, he never suggested anything he just kissed me," Nabi explained, her words coming out in a rush.
"Are we playing the game called: how dumb one can get or?" Hyunmi asked nonchalantly.
"Leave me alone! I'm already regretting the life choices I've made, I don't need you to make me feel worse!" Nabi snapped, her patience wearing thin.
"So you regret turning him down?"
"I DIDN'T TURN ANYONE DOWN" The girl had insisted, her frustration bubbling to the surface.
"What do you call turning down if not that?"
"When someone goes like: hey let's date and you go like no, thanks!"
"..."
"..."
"And the game updated to: how ignorant can one get!" Yunho added causing Nabi to roll her eyes at him.
"Okay, let's take a minute to figure things out okay? First of all tell me, do you like him like that?" His voice echoed in her mind, cutting through the chaos of her thoughts.
"Well, that's not what-"
"Answer the question goddamnit"
Nabi hesitated, the admission weighing heavy on her heart. "I mean, I do like him," she admitted "Have you seen him? I guess he's caring and sweet..."
Hyunmi's sharp retort snapped her back to reality, "Are we talking about the same man?"
"Shut up, he's sweet! well, sometimes at least." Nabi defended, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"I do believe he's sweet! He made me delicious scrumbled eggs the other day," Yunho added, earning himself an annoyed expression from Soojin, "Back to Nabi's feelings maybe?"
"Well, I think I do like him yeah but-"
"Do you want to be in a relationship with him?" her older friend pressed, her voice soft but unwavering.
Nabi's mind raced as she grappled with the enormity of the question. "Why are we taking things that far?" she protested weakly, her voice betraying her uncertainty.
"Nabi, He didn't just kiss you to get a reaction from you, think straight please."
"But he was drunk,"
"And you were even more drunk," Hyunmi countered, her voice steady and sure. "But you were thinking straight. I mean, I wouldn't call that thinking straight, but then again, when do you actually..."
Nabi's heart stuttered in her chest as the truth finally dawned on her. With a shaky exhale, she finally answered, "Okay, I get it!"
"Can I add something!" the only male in the room asked.
"No!" Hyunmi had snapped, her tone sharp with impatience, causing him to sigh as he pouted.
"But I don't think I'm ready for dating yet" Nabi confessed, her words tinged with uncertainty.
"Yet? Girl, you're almost at the age of retirement-" Yunho joked but got interrupted, "EXCUSE YOU BITCH?!"
"Okay, I'll shut up!" he relented, raising his hands in surrender.
"GOOD!"
"How long are you going to run away from relationships?" Soojin questioned gently. "I mean it didn't work once or twice But I do believe you and San would work out."
"That's what Yunho was telling me back then about Jeno too."
"Yunho is a man. what does he know?!" Soojin added, her tone dismissive as she scoffed.
"Hey!" Yunho protested.
"Fair!"
" So what? I should go to him and tell him that I like him?" Nabi questioned.
"... That's how it happens, yes!"
"But what if he doesn't like me back?" Nabi had fretted, her anxiety bubbling to the surface.
"oh gosh." Hyunmi sighed, shaking her head in exasperation, "I wonder if anyone overthinks more than you do."
"Nabi, hunbun, Look in the mirror-" Yunho urged.
"I'm too lazy to get up and get a mir-"
"Just imagine you're looking in a mirror."
"Okay..."
"You're beautiful, funny, and sweet, Maybe not so bright but that's fine! If you like him and want him then go and get him," He continued, his words a gentle reassurance, "What is there to be so anxious about?! If it doesn't work out then that's fine too at least you'll know that you've tried."
"But I don't want to lose him as a friend if things don't work out." The girl confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah, I haven't known him for that long but we've been spending a lot of time together and I got so used to him, He's such a good-"
"We get it, stop simping." Hyunmi interrupted causing her to roll her eyes in mock annoyance.
"Don't you understand that you already made things awkward, I mean not only you he did as well because well, he practically told you he likes you how do you continue being just friends after that?" Soojin pointed out.
"I guess you're right..." Nabi answered, "You know what?! you're right. I should tell him how I feel what am I so afraid of?!"
"Finally !"
"In fact, I will tell him everything today."
"Is that you hinting us to leave or?" Yunho joked.
"No, you can stay a little longer and make me some popcorn as well!"
