Truthfully speaking, there was no real need to confirm the deal at my place. The plan would go ahead regardless and I was to make sure of that.

But seeing that I have just taken the role as head, it never hurt to parade to the world that the Bratva was working well with the Yakuza's.

The Yakuza's may have different approaches compared to that of the mafia world, but the power they had over the normal working society was stronger than any other crime organization. So having an ally of sorts in that field would strengthen our own power. Like they say, take advantage of any and all circumstances.

I emerge out of my office from the third floor of my house and meet Sakurazuki and his right-hand man at the top of staircase.

"I'm glad we are now able to meet at a favourable situation." I draw out remembering the night where the guy in front of me assumed I did some stupid shit to his sister. I saved her not taunt her.

"Indeed. I too am glad we are able to cement our deal." Sakurazuki replied almost pleasantly. He may have not shown his fake ass mask as often around me, but he was wearing one right now, and I doubt it was to make good impressions. He was far too cunning to put a stupid façade to make me feel good about myself. This was all about mind games.

Good thing I enjoy playing those.

"Well, lets go in. Although I must remind, it would be wise to be aware of your surroundings. Like you said before at your estate, this is my turf, and we do things as we see fit. We're not as diplomatic as you guys are."

"I'll keep that in mind." Comes the reply. I half expected a ticked off expression, but he showed no signs of concern or irritation. His right-hand even smiled.

Well, wasn't that concerning.

Putting that thought away for the time being, we enter the meeting room and take our seats and begin discussing our deal. They help us in securing and maintaining a couple of our more legal businesses and we provide them a secure route for their illegal businesses.

And the matter that we had discussed previously, but that vital portion of the matter was for another day with Taylor. I needed them both.

It didn't take long till we shook hands, and our deal was on paper.

Unlike my stupid but productive attempt at wandering around the Sakurazuki estate, I make my men escort Sakurazuki back to his mode of transport and I make my own way back to my office when I sense that I am being watched.

It wasn't out of admiration that was for sure.

Strangely though, despite my own life  hanging at the mercy of an assassin, probably a sniper who was likely situated up in the hills, for reasons unknown it didn't set off the usual irritation or rage. Just pure curiosity.

A sniper who had successfully taken down my men who should have been guarding the lamely vulnerable sight. Well, if I survive today, I needed to tighten security there.

Regardless of that, the fact that I didn't mind being shot to death is fucking disturbing and I know there is something clearly wrong me.

Usually I would make Andrei or Mikhail check, but my curiosity on finding who had my life in their hands had my legs walking towards the area to discover the man myself. Who knows? I could persuade the guy to defect over to my side. It wouldn't be the first time I had done it.

Walking through the unkept bushes and uneven dirt, I begin to see some of my men unconscious but breathing. In fact, some were snoring away. The first thing I actually needed to do was send these men back to Russia and drill them in with some military training in their merciless winter. That'll do them some good.

But seeing that there were alive, the sniper was definitely part of the Sakurazuki organization. Only they would keep them alive. But then again, they were on my territory. A kill was another term for War.

I continue along the small dirt passage that followed over to the edge of the hill closer to my home when I spot a figure of very slim build in discreet clothing, blending with its environment. But it wasn't combat clothing, and he wore no obvious protective gear.

Whoever this was, he was certain he could fight against my men with ease. And he had.

I needed to think of all ways I can convince him to defect my way but that was going to be difficult seeing that he belonged to the Sakurazuki. They were one loyal bunch. But I could use a sniper that can fight. It was a big welcome on my end after losing one to the Taylors. Sofia was basically the only woman who picked up a rifle and proven her worth among our sexist and misogynistic organization.

The guy was packing away his rifle into its specific case and once finished he turns around, calling out for a person I knew with the voice I could recognize even when whispered.

"Onichan?"

It wasn't a he, it was a she. And it was her. It was fucking her.

With her short, pitch-black hair that was tied and shoved into a black cap, her pale face free of any makeup, not that she wore any often, glowed against the setting sun. And her goddamn plump bright red lips. Naturally red lips. I swear that God himself had gifted her those lips for it be devoured. And conquered. And to be feasted upon.

Her deep, dark brown eyes widen at registering my presence before schooling her features back to the 'you will never be able to tell what I'm thinking about' façade.

Unlucky for her, I made it my personal mission to study any changes in her well created mask. Afterall, she wasn't like her brother or father. She possessed all the important emotions, and her face and body responded to them. Not as vivid as most people's but they were never fake. She wasn't that skilled.

"I didn't take you as the Stalker type, looking through a lens. If you wanted to see me, all you had to do was ask Printsessa."

"And I didn't take you as the delusional type either. Shall I grace you with one of my bullets? Perhaps then you will realise you're not as strong as you think you are."

"Why didn't you pull the trigger then?"

"I follow my brother's command. And to be honest I wasn't in the mood then. But now, I might decide to end your life once and for all. The world can be just that bit better of a place without you in it."

"Ouch. Those words hurt. But if you were to end my life, then I'm not complaining."

This was true. Now that I know that my life were in her hands, the idea that my life would end with her fingers wasn't a bad thought. I would accept it gladly.

"Is that what you tell every women to make them feel important?"

"No, just you."

"How flattering." She sarcastically draws out while rolling her eyes. At least I got a reaction out of her that wasn't disinterest.

"Now, what should I do with you Printsessa?"

"Nothing."

"You're the one who was aiming my head. What happens in your organization if I was aiming for yours?"

Those fucking red lips purse. Probably refraining from spouting out shit that she didn't want to or shouldn't say.

"Do whatever you want. Like you said, I was aiming for your head. If you want to kill me, kill me." She says, her dark brown eyes staring at mine head on.

"Your pretty little head isn't what I want." I step over so I was directly in front of her and place my palm on her cheeks.

"What I want, is for you to stop pretending to be someone you're not."
