New Chapter!!!🪐⚡️
This chapter is relatively short so I might post another chapter pretty soon. I'll see.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy your reading time. 🙊🙈
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Shit was happening all over thegod damn place.
First, the bombing.
Then, Pakhan is dead.
I am appointed.
The deal was sealed.
She was there.
And MeX sent a letter. A threat letter, more precisely. Or is it?
To the Fedorov's,
Be ready. You will fall. The clock is ticking.
Meet where the bushes grow, trees aligned everywhere obscuring sight.
At the point in time when the sun begins to fall.
You asked. We will deliver.
This is only the beginning, pray you survive.
Long live the MeX
Taylor did share one the letters he had received from the MeX's, and it was from the same person alright. Their way with words were the same. But there was something very, very wrong.
Taylor and his wife assumed the letters were written by Emiliano De Luca, the traitor of the De Luca family who impersonated to be his twin brother. That way, it made a lot of sense with how the letter was infiltrated through.
The thing was, Alaina Taylor, Taylor's wife, had killed Emiliano not too long ago. Meaning, he couldn't have written or have sent this letter to me. This only meant that someone else was writing this and we still didn't know how this letter made its way into their and my hands.
Who the fuck was writing this and what the fuck do they want?
Their intentions are never clear it seems. Even probing the Taylor's hadn't done much damage at the end of the day and they don't seem to have gained anything out of it. If anything, Taylor gained everything there was to gain.
What was their goal?
"Andrei?"
"Yes Boss?" Comes the instant reply. He was the only person I allowed myself to trust. He was the only person who had proved his worth and loyalty, time and time again. Whether that was 16 years ago when we first met at school in fourth grade, when both of us had next to nothing or now.
"Keep an eye out on everything and everyone that comes and leaves this place. I want each and every object and living thing accounted for. . . there could be a traitor among us or within the organization. That is the only explanation why that small percentage of profit is lost every few months and how this shit made its way in." I say throwing the piece of paper onto my desk.
"I will tighten all security measures. Should I implement body checks upon entering and exiting?"
"Yeah, do that." I agree nodding my head. It probably wouldn't do much, but it was better than not doing anything at all.
"Speaking of security measures, what happened at the hill? You told me to drill some sense into the group who were stationed there for being lax, and that I did. But you didn't explain what had happened. . ." He trails off. He knew exactly what he was questioning.
"Someone was aiming my head while Sakurazuki and I were discussing our deal." I mutter out remembering her face once again. Her face when I placed my hand on her cheek, stunned, confused, and in disbelief. Whether it was out of embarrassment or anger, her cheeks flushed to a rosy pink, that heightened the color of her red lips further and that memory had taken a leisurely residence in my twisted head these past few days.
"And you didn't discover who it was?" Andrei asks, probing to get answers. Solid answers. He probably has a general idea who it was and why I hadn't done anything about it.
"The person involved has nothing to do with this. Drop the subject and make sure our men do their job. I do not need to die in my own home Andrei."
"Hmm. Well, that's a first. One could say that you are losing your mind if you, now the Pakhan, didn't mind having their head on a silver platter for some sniper and/or assassin."
"I said. Drop. The. Subject."
"Probably a woman. Who probably has a very strong correlation with the Sakurazuki who will never reciprocate the feelings you have." He continues on, disregarding what I said seconds earlier.
Yeah, of course he would know.
"Andrei." I say summoning all the calm I don't have. "What the fuck did I say?"
"Can't remember." He says in that annoying tone, feigning innonce. "But I can give you a bit of advice here. You're being way too obvious. Your face shows everything, I'm surprised her brother hasn't done anything about it. I would've expected him to kill you on the spot or maybe he was going to, by making the person you want but can't have, to drill a hole in your head. Whatever it is, if you want her, be smart about it. Forcing her to get close isn't going to help."
Yeah she wanted me gone alright. But he had a point.
Besides, I needed to get my act together. There were more pressing matters that needed to be completed.
"Andrei get the team ready. We're going to a forest. Take all the snipers we have, we'll leave before two this afternoon. Map out everything and send them to me. When it's one pm, we'll have a meeting to discuss our routes and plans."
"Yes Boss." He replies before leaving my office to gather and finalise everything.
I don't ever remember requesting for any chaos that encompassed shit with the MeX's but, if they're going to start whatever they have schemed, then I too will deliver.
