POV: Darleen
The Day Before
Let's see, sleeping arrangements, check. Stocked fridge and cabinets, check. Room keys and car passes, check. Everything is going smoothly so far. This should be fun. I don't know why I'm so nervous. Okay scratch that, I do know why. It's because any time Jade and Skylar are in the same room together disaster follows.
"Last one upstairs has to help Darleen carry all the bags!" Skylar runs up the stairs in our hotel suite.
"No fair, you got a head start!" Kenzie runs after her.
I smile.
"You totally cheated!" Kenzie playfully pushes Skylar as they stand winded up the top of the stairs.
"Losers weepers," Skylar chuckles.
"Since when did I become the designated bag person?" I cross my arms at the bottom of the stairs.
They look at each other and then laugh.
"You both better help or no jacuzzi tub," I say.
"No fair!" They say in unison.
"I don't make the rules," I shrug.
"Ugh, fine, you win, Beast." Skylar comes back downstairs.
"I always win," I smirk.
"Stop reminding me," she says before pecking me on the lips.
I giggle.
A knock on the door has me turning.
"I got it!" Kenzie races down the stairs.
"About time I get invited on a girl's trip." Wini walks in with her bags.
"Hey!" I run up to her and hug her.
"Oh my god, it's been forever." Skylar hugs her after me.
"Hi!" Kenzie hugs her last.
"I'll admit, I never thought the next time I saw you, you two would be back together," Wini indicates to me and Skylar.
"Love finds a way," I smile at Skylar.
She smiles back and pecks me on the cheek.
"I'll help with your bags, see I'm helping." Kenzie takes Wini's bags.
I roll my eyes but we all take the bags upstairs.
"Ugh, what did you pack," Skylar grunts.
"You never know," I shrug.
Wini chuckles.
"I'm here!" I hear Jade call downstairs.
I see Skylar stiffen next to me.
Wini raises an eyebrow at me.
Some things never change.
"Just a sec!" Kenzie calls down.
"This is nice," Jade comments.
"Not as nice as that one hotel remember in New York." Someone else says.
"Oh I love that hotel, we def need to go back."
At the sound of the mystery voice, Skylar literally drops everything she's doing to go look. Kenzie isn't far behind her. Before I can follow, Wini stops me.
"Hey, I know I just got here and all but are you really sure about this? About Skylar? Your relationship wasn't exactly pretty the first time around." She reminds me.
