POV: Darleen

I thought it was a dream. A really amazing dream that once I woke up from, I'd find myself in a world of pain and disappointment. When I turn in bed in the early hours of the morning, I discover it was not a dream.

There she is, still naked, still asleep.

She looks so cute like that.

I pull her into my arms, she must have strayed away in the night.

She's cold, I nuzzle into her, warming her with my body.

At the foot of the bed, Cloud is sprawled out, his fluffy body warming my feet. He must have snuck in here last night after we fell asleep.

"Skylar," I call her name.

"Emm," she says half asleep.

"What do you want for breakfast?"

"All I want for Christmas is you," she says half asleep.

I can't help but laugh loudly.

I see her smirk with her eyes still closed.

"I'm serious," I say.

"Surprise me," she says.

I move to get up but she holds on tightly.

"How can I make breakfast if you won't let go?" I ask.

"Stay," she pouts.

"Aren't you hungry?"

She pouts some more.

Cute.

I giggle and kiss her forehead before finally sliding out of bed. I grab some underwear and socks, as well as a t-shirt and my robe before walking to the kitchen. I see Ace asleep on the couch, my aunt would kill me if she knew a dog was asleep on her couch.

I yawn and stretch before pulling out some pots and pans.

The Countess comes and stretches right in my line of view, her way of telling me she wants food, now.

I bend down and pet her before pouring some cat chow into her bowl.

Cloud quickly runs over at the sound of food.

I can't keep a smile off of my face as I prepare breakfast. I smile when I crack the eggs and get a piece of shell in the bowl. I smile when I drop the bacon in the pan and a stray sizzle pops on my skin. I even smile when the knife slips and nicks my finger.

I just feel all giddy inside.

I did it.

We did it.

Skylar and I...together again. At last.

I bite my lip as I smile and serve up the plates of food.

Finally, Skylar joins me, half asleep still and freshly showered and changed.

"Morning, sleepy head." I peck her on the lips.

She smiles up at me.

"Morning," she grabs the plate from my hand.

"So," I follow after her as she walks to the dining room.

"So?"

"Now that we are together, I was thinking that maybe you and I can go somewhere on spring break, like a week in Japan or something. Oh! We can go to an island for summer break. I've always wanted to stay in one of those hut things. We still have a little time left for winter break, maybe I should fly you to the mountains, we could go skiing!" I suggest.
