"Maybe he is. After all, he does not sleep at night at all"

Jason says, sitting by Carter's side.

"Then why not use the medicines at night?"

I say standing up again.

"Right"

He agrees.

"You can talk to his doctor there when we go there in the Christmas. He is in charge of all the medicines"

He gets up from the bed as well.

"Where are the medicines?"

I say with a concern popping up.

What if he has been taking the wrong medicines all this time because of a wrong observation of his condition?

I can just consult with Dr. Zain about it in that case.

"With the maid I guess"

He says cluelessly observing my moves.

I walk toward the door when Jason's voice prevents me.

"What are you trying to do, Doc? Don't even think of going to ask her to give you the medicines"

He says from where he was standing previously.

"Why not?"

I turn to him.

"There are some contracts I guess. The Carter family is very authentic about their privacy with a number of contracts. If you check the medicines yourself without any supervision of Nate or my father, it would be counted as trespassing"

He explains trying to use as simple words as he can.

"That is... strange and stupid"

I say frowning.

"I know"

He sighs.

"You can although consult with his doctor personally"

He says with hope.

"This is so tough, Jason. This guy right here is fighting life with everything he is left with and his family and their stupid contracts are obstructing my way to help him out"

I say pointing at Vivian.

Jason bows his head down in defeat. He can do nothing and my words won't change anything about the situation right now.

"Jason, I will come back again in the evening when he will be up. Just don't tell anything to him"

I say in my own defeat.

"Okay but why should I not tell him you were here?"

He says.

"I want to test him on something very specific"

I wink and walk behind toward the door that leads to the outer world.

"Hey, Mark?"

I called Mark to ask if Mr. Thomas was in the clinic yet or not, on my way.

"Hey, Erica. I heard you came early today and left because of that Carter case?"

He asks, smiling sharply.

Why does he always have to act so indifferent about Carter?

"Yes"

I say trying to have patience.

"So how is it going?"

He asks.
