{so when I die, which I must do, could it shine down here with you?}

[noahs pov] it's almost been a year since Cody left. he only came back when he wanted to, like in dreams or broken-down deja vu. Like, I would see another chestnut brown haired boy and i would get my hopes up. But then I would realize that his hair is more dirty blond than chestnut colored. Sometimes I would look at his godawful parents' house. Stand on the sidewalk, facing it. Hating everything it stood for.

I didn't walk to school anymore, I didn't need to. I got my drivers license and I drive myself to school everyday. I started to read more and talk less, Owen and Izzy started to worry about me sometimes.

The cycle that I worked so hard to break from started again.

Over, and over and OVER. Cody broke that cycle. That stupid geek is the one who saved me from my misery. He's gone now. Who knows where he went? He could be living his best life somewhere far, far away from here. or he could be dead. I cant do anything about it. I don't plan on seeing any other guys, because no one could compare to Cody.

one day, I got a postcard.

from him.

not a letter, just a simple postcard.

three words long.
