To Be Happy

Chapter 15

Rey starts to worry over Macau, the younger one seems to be attached to her and has been a lot fidgety after the incident. It's only been a couple of days but Macau seems to always be alert, he's always calling out for anyone, making sure they're there.

Rey plans on confronting Macau soon, she needs to know what's going on with the younger. The incident shouldn't make him like this but it's making her worry.

What makes her heart drop is when Theo mentions the Theerapanyakun and Macau starts having a panic attack. It took her a while to calm down the younger as he seemed to have flashbacks. Rey knew Vegas and Macau weren't treated right in their own family but to what extent?

"PHI??? PHI REY???"

"I'M HERE CAU!!"

Rey stares at Macau as he barges into her office room in her house. The younger looks frantic as he seems to be searching for her for a while and Rey's heart aches for the younger.

Macau walks towards Rey, who stands up and opens her arms for him. He wrapped his arms around her before finally relaxing, sagging in her arms. Rey swayed the both of them as she stroked the younger's head, gently steering them towards the sofa and sitting down.

"Macau... can you tell me what happened?"

"I thought you were gone"

"You know I won't leave you alone, right? Even if I have to go out, I'll always tell you"

"I know..."

"Now tell Phi what really happened"

"... the incident"

"Phi knows very well the incident can shake you up but your action indicates there's more to it. Can you tell Phi? Phi wants to help her favorite Nong"

"Kei is not your favorite??"

"Ewh No, she's a brat"

"Hahaha, I'll make sure to brag to her!"

"Cau... will you tell Phi? If you're not ready, we can talk later about it"

"I'll tell you... but I don't know how..."

"How about from the start? We have time and we can take breaks if you feel overwhelmed"

"Okay, so here it goes..."

Macau was 10 years old when he saw his father beating his own son, his big brother the most. He remembers rushing to his father trying to stop him but he was pushed away, his cries as he was flung back.

He screams and cries, begging his father to stop hitting his brother but all he gets is an angry shout from his father, he cries as he watches him walk towards him and raises his hands.

He remembers Vegas weakly got to his feet and rushed to their father, stopping him from hitting Macau. His father's attention when back to Vegas and starts screaming at him, while his brother motions him to leave.

He went back to his room, crying and praying for Vegas to be alright, he tried to see if Vegas and their father were done before he gently crept out to search for Vegas. He finds the older in his room with a big bruise on his cheeks, and so, he wails for Vegas. That night he stayed the night with Vegas.

After seeing Vegas getting hit, everything starts going wrong for Macau. He was the youngest amongst both the minor and major family, and even with their tense relationship Macau was close with Thankhun and Kim.
