"Did the two of you fight?" Kim asked after Cait left with Deanna and others.
I can't even find the right words to answer Kim. So I only gave her a shrug.
"Come on. I'm not buying that!"
I stopped walking and turned around to look at Kim. "I don't know." I'm starting to get irritated but I know wala naman siyang kasalanan, so I calmed myself. It's all on me.
"What happened last night ba? Jamie kasi sumama pa kina Ponggay sa kabilang room pati tuloy ako nakisiksik din." she whined.
I know I can trust Kimmy naman. And besides, she already knows. So, what's there to be afraid of? "She broke up with her boyfriend yesterday."
Halos mapatakip ito sa kanyang bibig sa narinig. "Oh my gosh, Beatriz! Don't tell me.." pointing her finger at me.
Pumikit ako bago umiling. "They already have broken up before I came to pick her up yesterday. I don't want to give details about why they broke up but.. yeah."
Kim tapped heavily her hand on my shoulder. "Beatriz, what now?"
I heaved a sigh. "What now? I don't know. Come what may?"
"I mean.. Now that she's already.."
"Kim, baka they can fix it pa. I don't want to take advantage of this situation." But you already did!
"Why? Nag-confess ka ba?" Kim asked with anticipation.
I slowly shook my head as an answer. "No." then I let out a sigh. "But she did."
Wala akong narinig mula kay Kim but I don't know how to explaim her face right now. She's smiling then she's gonna shake her head with her lips pursed.
"What, Kimmy?"
"You didn't confess but she did.. Does that mean she called it quits because she already has feelings for you? Well, I am not telling na ikaw ang dahilan but.. technically, it's still you? Because of her feelings for you?"
I bit my lower lip as we walked our way to the cottage. "I rejected it, Kim."
Kim was surprised with what I told her. "Really? I know it doesn't sound good but.. why? This could be your chance, Bei."
Umiling ako. "No, Kim. I don't want us to start that way. I also don't want to het my hopes up. They just broke up. Maybe today.. or tomorrow, we'll hear that they got back together."
"And what if they don't?"
"I still don't think it's a good idea, Kim. I feel guilty. It's as if she did for me. Like I pushed her to do it."
"But, Bei, hindi niya alam."
"What about how I treated her?"
