My mind's wandering while we're eating. Cait and I are supposed to eat dinner together but dad called. Now, tapos nang sabihin ni dad 'yung urgent meeting nila kanina about our ranch and about sa stable. He also asked me to visit Bell Racing Stable and check on Bea, my 1YO thoroughbred racehorse.

"I talked with your tita Mozzy the other day, anak, ah. You're going daw to Japan?"

I gently put my utensils down and wiped the side of my lips. "Not yet sure, mom. I'll check my plans pa po."

"But your tita is already expecting you to visit Thirdy. You already promised to go, anak."

I sighed. I hate breaking promises, and my mom knows it very well. "Yeah. I'll check my schedule, mom, so I'll know when to book my flight."

That made her smile. Well, I hope tita Mozzy didn't bring up about anything.. again. I glanced at dad who's still quietly eating but listening to us.

"Dad," mom caught dad's attention. "I think the Ravenas still want Thirdy to pursue our Isabel. What do you think?"

Halos masamid ako sa sinabing iyon ng sariling nanay ko. So, they're still into it? Tsk.

"What I think doesn't matter, hon. Well, I know that our daughter here is eyeing for someone else." he just grin sheepishly. "Right, anak?"

I couldn't help but smile at dad. "Right."

Nakangiti namang umiling si mom sa amin. "You really are your dad's daughter, aren't you?"

We continued eating our dinner when suddenly dad remembered something. "Did you.. greet Jho already? I remembered her birthday this morning and I messaged her. I even invited her for dinner pero she said she already has plan tonight."

"I did greet her too, I sent her a gift this afternoon."

Nawala sa isip ko.. and do I really have to remember it every year?

"Isabel, I know na maraming nagbago sainyo but you can't change that fact na she's been part of our lives once. We really loved that kid. We still do. You introduced her in our lives and we're grateful for that. Things might've not been in your favour but still.."

Dad answered my thoughts. It's true naman na we can never bring back the past and make it right.. but still, we were friends first even before anything else. I picked my phone out of my bag and sent her a greetings. I even posted a picture of us. I picture from that night we bid each other's goodbye.

"Good night, anak."

We all went to our rooms. I checked my phone before taking a shower.. I'd like to send Cait a message but I tried not to. I shouldn't be that clingy, I should let her have the me-time she needs. I'll message her na lang after taking a bath.

The cold water drops onto my skin..and it refreshes everything within me. I relaxed my body and even my thoughts.
