The automatic doors to the hospital opened when Phoebe went through them. She clutched the envelope in her hand for dear life. She was angry, upset and mostly at her boyfriend. How could he have done such a thing? That just proved how dangerous Kreese really was, pumping his poison into their heads. She finally understood why her dad was so reluctant to let her join a year ago, and looking back now, she was glad for it. She felt glad that he warned her about Kreese and Silver in advance.

She told herself that she would join Cobra Kai again when Hell froze over and Kayla got out of jail, which would be never. And she would tell anyone that who asked.

Walking over to the reception desk, she set the envelope on the counter. "Hi, can I put this towards Miguel Diaz' surgery bill?"

The lady nodded and took a look at the money. "That's quite the amount."

"Yeah, he has more use of it than I do."

"Can I tell the family who it's from?"

"Yeah. Tell them it's from Miyagi-Do karate." Phoebe turned on her heel and walked back out to where she parked her dirt bike. She had parted with the money that her grandparents gave her for her many missed birthdays. All one thousand dollars of it. A perfect match of what she, the cheerleaders, and the Miyagi-Dos had raised earlier that day. Her best friend was a better worthy investment than putting it in a bank account.

Phoebe was about to put her helmet back on when her phone began to ring for the millionth time. She glanced at the Caller ID and was surprised that it wasn't Eli's name on the screen like it had been for a full thirty minutes.

She wondered why he'd be calling her. Thoughts of the reasons why Demetri and his parents decided to move into the Encino house crossed her mind.

"Hey, grandpa. Is everything okay?"

"Phoebe, how are you?"

"I'm quite well, you?"

"A lot better since the house is a lot more crowded now. Listen, I know by now you've found out from your father that I paid your hospital bill which he is quite angry about...and I wanted to make a little donation for Miguel."

"Oh, that's wonderful. Thanks. I'm sure the Diaz's will appreciate that very much."

"I'm the opposite of Johnny's stepfather, Sid. Never liked that man. But I don't hand out money willingly."

A confused expression crossed her face. Was he holding a donation hostage? "That's cruel to do that. What do you want? I'll learn Greek."

"As much as I'd like you to learn some, no. That's not what I had in mind. You can say yes or no to what I have to say."

"Okay. What then?"

"I've got you a job at the Country Club. This time it's not a hundred dollars a day. You'll get paid like everyone else."

"When do I start?"

"Monday after school."

"And if I show up, you'll donate to Miguel?"

"Of course."

"You gonna tell Demetri to get a job?"

"I'll see if his parents agree."

"What about mine? Did they agree to this?"

"For the time being since you don't have karate or gymnastics right now, I want you to continue the legacy your dad and Peter have done. Work in the country club."

"You know this is a very underhanded way for telling me to get a job, right?"

"I know. Don't you worry Demetri will be joining you there soon."
