Can't Catch Me Now / Severus Snape

4. Tomorrow Problem

Lilith got back to their chambers and severus rose up from his chair beside the fire.

"Aria asleep?" Lilith questioned as his lips met hers.

"Yep. Her and the cat. She was dressing him up in a tutu." Severus added. Lilith pushed him back to his seat and curled up in his lap.

"Maybe he wants to be in ballet to." Lilith suggested. "You dont know." Severus chuckled holding her hostage in his arms.

"How is he?"

"Nervous but okay. Draco was with him when I left... apparently his new house mates think us slytherins are evil."

"What? How strange." Severus mused.

"Yeah well thats Gryffindor for you." She agreed. "I'm sad I dont get him in my classes yet." 

"You honestly think he wont spend his free period with you?"

"He's growing up, he wont need us as much as he used to. "Lilith corrected. 

"He will always need his mother." Severus corrected kissing her gently. 

"You arent going to go easy on him are you?" Lilith realized. 

"He should know more than them." Severus agreed. "I'm holding him to higher standards-"

"Sevy," Lilith whined. "Remember being in school and not just at school are two different things, he is going to be nervous." 

"I can't show favorites. You know my reputation." Severus corrected. 

"Yeah, but he is your son and he will report back to me if you are a dick." Lilith corrected. 

It was harder for Lilith to let go. Of course it was, harry was her first baby. Severus got to see him in classes every day, to continue to teach him and mentor him. Lilith never hated ancient runes so much. 

"Would you like me to concoct a sleeping draft?" Severus questioned. 

"I'm fine." Lilith countered. 

"You are clearly not." Severus corrected. "You have been tossing and turning for hours my love." 

"I'm just worried about this year. Quirrell has been squirrely." 

"He always is." Severus countered. 

"He was-"

"I know what he was but Albus would not have hired him if he didnt believe he was reformed. Like myself." Severus reminded her. Lilith nodded laying back in bed again before shooting up and moving to Aria's room. Aria rubbed at her eyes as Lilith picked her up bringing her back to their bed. Severus moved over as Aria snuggled in between them. 

Aria didnt complain or ask why she was being woken up and transferred to their bed, she would gladly sleep snug between her parents. 

Lilith lay back down and snuggled Aria close. 

"She's not allowed to go to Hogwarts. She is going to stay my little girl forever." Lilith instructed. Severus chuckled. 

"I think she will have some complaints to that." Severus countered. 

"You think Harry is going to be okay?"

"Honey, please. Relax, we are right here." Severus reminded her. "We can keep an eye on him."

"I know, I know I just... I miss him being right here, in the next room. So I could go in and check on him and kiss him goodnight and make sure he went to bed at a reasonable time and wanst up until midnight reading, because he has class in the morning." She added. 

"Honey, we raised a smart and capable young man-"

"He's a child. Not a man. Don't age him up." She begged. Severus chuckled. 

"Harry Snape is going to thrive here." 

"I hope so." Lilith agreed leaning into him. 

"Guys." Aria begged. "I'm trying to sleep here!"

"Sorry honey," Lilith kissed the top of her head. Severus reached out a hand and grabbed LIilths. He leaned past Aria and kissed Lilith. 

"Goodnight, my love."

"Night." She whispered reaching out and touching his cheek, running her fingers down his arm and grabbing his hand again. 

Everything else would be a tomorrow problem. They needed a good nights rest. Tomorrow was the first day of term after all. Anything could happen.
