Hello dear readers <3 I've published my last story over a year ago, so this one shot is for getting into writing again! Hope you enjoy :3

Your p.o.v.

My eyes snapped open. Not again. The clock read nearly 12am. It was one of those sleepless nights and it slowly got on my nerves. I looked to my right to see Grim snoring, mumbling something in between about fighting Ace.
I knew it was useless trying to close my eyes again, so I swung my legs out of bed, putting on my fluffy winter socks, boots and coat.

Hurrying down the creaky stairs, I almost tripped in the darkness. My hand reached for the old, dusty front door. Finally. My lungs filled with crisp air, as I took a deep breath. It was cold. Nonetheless, I continued my way towards the wood, which backed onto Ramshackle Dorm.

I wasn't scared of forests, neither during day nor night. The moon brightened up the area, so it wasn't hard to see. An owl could be heard, but also some rustling in the bushes behind me.
I curiously turned around, the noise intensifying. My heart rate sped up, my hands felt sweaty. But suddenly, with a snap, my anxiety was gone. A pair of gorgeous, golden eyes met my (e/c) colored ones. They held a beautiful sparkle in the moonlight. Coming closer, the creature slowly stepped out of the darkness, whereupon I crouched down.

"Hey there....I won't hurt you...I promise." My voice held a gentle tone.

Following the golden eyes was fluffy looking, white fur. With careful steps, the wolf closed in on me. The corner of my lips turned up, as I smiled at it in awe. I stretched out my hand, which the wolf sniffled at when it sat down in front of me.

"I guess I do have some kind of connection towards animals hm.." Slowly, my hand wandered to its ears.

"Can I..pat you?" The wolf didn't seem to show uncomfortable behavior, so I scratched his ear and neck.
"Guess even animals in Twisted Wonderland can't talk huh.."

Somehow I felt like I needed to get weight off my chest. So I talked. It was more of a monologue. But it felt good. No one who judged or gave unwanted advices. I glanced at the wolf in between, smiling softly. I couldn't shake the feeling off, that those eyes were familiar. Probably just my lack of sleep, which let me imagined the wildest things.

At some point, I got tired. But it was a good feeling of tiredness.

"I think *yawn*...it's time to head back..thank you for listening to me."
I wasn't sure if the wolf really understood a thing I said, but it tilted its head in a curious way like to say 'you're welcome'.  After showing a last twinkle, I vanished into the darkness of the woods, a guest of wind accompanied me on my way back to Ramshackle.
This night was the first one I slept like a baby in a long time.

Feeling a certain desire in my heart, I returned to the magical place where I met the white creature almost every night from now on. And what should I tell you? It was there, every single time. Of course I never told anyone about our encounter. I chuckled at the thought of having my own little secret.

A soft sigh escaped my lips, while my cheek was nuzzled into the soft fur of my new friend.

"You know," I started, thinking about how to form my next sentence, "there's this boy in school..I think I really like him.." I felt how my cheeks heated up, just thinking about him. The wolfs ears turned in my direction, followed by its gaze.
"His name is Jack. He's so sweet and caring, although he never admits it. Speaking of him..i didn't really see him lately.." A warm smile formed on my lips when I thought about my...well I think crush is the right word. My companion just stared at me.

"Uh...did I say something wrong..?" Suddenly sparkles started to appear around the wolf.
"W-wait what's happening?" A bit unsure about what was going to happen next, I gained some distance between us. I closed my eyes from the brightness and when I opened them again, Jack sat in front of me. Jack. Wait what!?

"J-Jack!? W-what're you doing here?...wait don't tell me you're the wolf I met up with this whole time!" My face was now burning from embarrassment.

"Ah well.." He nervously scratched his neck and avoided my gaze. "L-look I was really busy lately so I didn't get to see you.."

"And then you just followed me!?" Embarrassment was now replaced by slight anger.

"It's not like I worried about you or anything!" His ears went back and a soft redness grew on his cheeks.
Honestly, I couldn't stay mad at this cute sight of him. A lopsided smile forced its way on my face. Before I knew it, I flew into his arms. First being a bit confused at my reaction, Jack now wrapped his buff arms around my torso, pulling me closer. His warmth felt good in those cold temperatures, so I nuzzled more into his chest.

"Thank you for worrying about me." I felt him squeezing me slightly in response.
We broke our hug and looked at each other, smiling faintly. Without noticing, we closed in again. Before our noses were about to touch, our eyes widen and we parted, Jack clearing his throat.

"Let's head back, you're feeling cold." He crouched down in front of me, his back facing me.
"Huh?"
"Hop on, I'll carry you back." I grinned brightly to myself before jumping on his back, my arms wrapped around his neck and my legs around his hips. Jack took hold of my legs while starting to walk back to Ramshackle Dorm. My cheek rested on his wide back. I felt so safe and comfy in his presence, not only in his human but in his wolf form as well. I could feel myself getting drowsy at his warmth.

A/N: No, my lazy ass didn't need three days to write this story😭😭
