Chapter 13

                                 — Ella POV —

Am I dreaming, is Carlos really standing in front of me? He is looking at me with a concerned face.
Did he really just ask me to go outside?
'I'm sorry what?' I want to make sure I'm not being delusional.
'Ella, please come outside with me for a second, I really think the fresh air will do you good' Carlos says exhausted.

A shiver runs down my spine when he says my name like that.
' Lottie i'm going outside for a while with Carlos, will be back soon.'

I turn around to face Carlos and he is reaching out his hand for me to take. I grab his hand, and feel electricity running trough my entire body. The fresh air on my face helps me to see everything clear again. I wait until Carlos explains why he is here, however it stays silent.

'So Carlos, what brings you here? Shouldn't you be resting for the sprint race tomorrow?' I ask carefully.
Carlos goes with his hands trough his hair and is clearly thinking about what to say.

'Ella, you don't know what you do to me, the though of you going home with somebody tonight was driving me crazy. So I had to come here to make sure you made smart decisions.' Carlos breathed out.

I was stunned by his confession, I was partly flattered and partly insulted. Does he really think I need somebody to help me make smart choices.

somebody to tell me what I can
and cannot do?

Ella please, that is not what
I said, I just want you
to be safe. And make
sure you don't go home
with an ass like Tom. You don't
want to know what
he was telling everybody!

He was just bragging about
what he did to you
that night. It was really
disrespectful!

Carlos, tell me what
he said we did.
It clearly bothers you.

He told everybody what an easy
fuck you where. God Ella
I tried my best to break you
guys apart that night. But still it
was to late. It kills me, I should
have stopped it the moment I
saw you getting out of that elevator.

We didn't have sex

I said we didn't have sex,
Tom was just bragging.

it went to far. Don't beat yourself up.
But Carlos I can still make
my own decisions.

Aren't you looking for someone
for the long run? Is drinking
and dancing with strangers
really what you want ?

Yes, I got my heart broken to
the point where it can't be
fixed anymore. This is all I can
take.

Maybe you haven't found
the right person yet to heal
your broken heart

I think I should call
it a night. Go to bed to sleep
it off. You should also get some
sleep, important day tomorrow.

Can I walk you to
your room again?

That would be great, I'll let
Lottie know. Let's go.

We're walking in silence, it is not an awkward silence. I feel his hand brushing against mine, it takes everything in me to not interlock our fingers. But I know I can't let my walls down. I will not recover from this. His hand touches mind again, I can't stop the shiver running down my spine. Carlos notices and places his hoodie over my shoulders. It smells like him, it immediately gives me a warm feeling.

I hope you will be ready
for the fan zone tomorrow.
You won't be able to sleep a lot now.

I'm ready, looking forward
to seeing my number
one fan in the front row.
You are still planning
an being there right ?

Off course I wouldn't miss
it for the world! Just have to
hydrate.

We arrived at my hotel, but Carlos has clearly no intention to leave. He just stepped into the lobby and was looking at me to push the button in the elevator for the correct floor.
