Chapter 25

— Carlos POV —

I could feel that Ella wasn't ready to open her heart to me. That ass, Derek, really ruined her. I decided to make sure that our first weekend together was going to be perfect. To make sure we could spend as much time as possible together I had decided to fly to Belgium on Friday and leave on Monday.
I searched for Lottie's contact online so I could get some pointers to make our date perfect.

I also made sure that it wasn't out in public, I loved my fans but when it came to my love live they could be ruthless. Ella and I called every evening, I was falling and falling hard. I was counting down the days until I could see her again. On Friday I arrived at her house, Lottie made sure to hide a spare key. So I was able to prepare everything for our candlelight dinner.

I was impatiently waiting for Ella to come home, this was going to be a surprise for her. So I really hoped Lottie had advised me correctly. I could hear keys in the lock and the door opening. I knew she was going to see the flower paddles on the ground and connect the dots. 'Carlos? Babe are you here?'
I couldn't contain myself and came out of my hiding spot. ' hi mi cielo' i shyly said. She dropped everything and came running to me, i was just in time to catch her when she jumped in my arms.

Her arms wrapped around my neck and she pushed her face in my neck. ' carlos, I missed you here with me.' Her confession made me chuckle, ' i missed you too my love'
Shit what did I just say, my love. Jeezes Carlos calm down, you don't want to scare her away. I noticed a strange look on Ella's face, so I decided to quickly change the subject.

'If you follow me señora, I will take you to your table.' I took her hand and guide her to the dinner I prepared. 'Wow, Carlos did you make this yourself?' She looked at me surprised. 'Yes Ella, this is one of my many hidden talents.'
We enjoyed our dinner together and after that I had prepared a movie night for us. I wasn't able to concentrate completely on the movie, with Ella so close to me. I couldn't help admiring the woman that was next to me.

'Do you wanna go to bed' I was pulled back to reality. The movie had ended. 'Sure' I said, Ella showed me her bedroom and bathroom. 'I will give you the full tour tomorrow, I'm actually very proud of everything I have already done.' She radiated proudly.
Ella was renovating her house on her own, she really was one of a kind. We went to bed, both very tired of a busy day. So we cuddled and fell a sleep instantly.

I was woken up the next morning by the sunlight shining into the bedroom. I decided to make some breakfast for Ella and wake her up with a nice coffee in bed. I hoped today we could talk about Ella's concerns. I could see it clearly during our calls that something was bothering her.

After our breakfast we decided to go for a walk, I had to build up all the courage to start our much needed talk. 'So Ella, should we talk about what is bothering you?, I really hoped she wasn't ready to stop this.
'Yes Carlos, we really should. It's just that I wasn't really looking for something complicated. As I said before, I just need happy love, an easy breezy relationship. But how can this, be that? When we have to carefully plan everything just to be able to see each other for a small time? I just don't know if I can' she spills all the words out.
'Honey, love shouldn't be easy breezy, however love should be worth fighting for. So I think if you really see this going somewhere, then you should work and fight for it.' I see in her eyes a sparkle. 'You're right, I was overthinking I'm sorry' she says planting her lips against mine.
