Chapter 39

— Carlos POV —

Fuck I did the one thing I couldn't do, I slept with her. I just couldn't control myself yesterday. Just feeling her so close to me makes my heart skip a beat. In the beginning of the night I had wrongly presumed that Derek was locked up. That's why I came close to Ella. Bit when she told me this morning that Derek is still a free man, my heart stopped. This meant that the deal was still on. So I do the only thing I can do, to keep het safe. I kick her out. She can't be seen close to me. He will ruin her!

I can hear her sobbing in front of my door, my heart breaks knowing I did that to her. It really takes everything inside of me to not go back out, take her into my arms and hold her close. I just hope nobody took a picture of us yesterday, that would ruin everything. I have to do some damage control, I have to make sure people see Ana and me together. I make a quick call to Charles to see what he is up to today.

Charles told me he was going away with Lando and the girls, I decide to invite myself and Ana along. I needed to see her, I didn't want this morning to be the last memory she had of me. This way I would be seen with Ana, but I could still talk to her.

We arrived on Charles yacht, I already noticed her sitting on the back couch. She looked gorgeous, I just wanted to have her close to me. I could just feel my heart rate increasing just by looking at her. I could feel it in every fiber if my bone. I loved her with all my heart.
'Ugh babe, hold my bags! A real boyfriend would be helping me right now! Please act a bit more like it!' Ana was whining next to me. 'Hush, nobody has to hear you, you know the deal, nobody can know!' I am putting away our stuff when I see Ana walking up to Ella. She looks back at me,rolling her eyes. Shit I should have warned her she would be here.

Lando walks to the group with drinks, he makes a gesture to follow him to a bit more private area. I suppose he knows about this morning. 'Muppet what do I do with you, not cool man.' Lando looks at me very disappointed. 'Why don't you just tell her the truth? I'm sure she would understand! Do you know she is getting threats from him. I don't know what you think you are doing. But you are definitely not keeping her safe. To be frank you are doing the exact opposite. And now you are pushing Ana in her face. I almost don't know who you are anymore.' I have never seen Lando so angry and disappointed.
'But what can I do, if I get to close to her then he will ruin her! I can't do that to her, so I have to follow my end of the deal and keep away from her. Just until my team can come up with a solution.' I really need Lando to understand. He looks up at me and says,' I just hope you haven't lost her by then. Because I saw het this morning and she was heartbroken.' And with that he goes back to the others and leaves me standing there alone.

'Really Carlos, your idea of a date is inviting me along on a trip with the girl you love?' She says with venom in her voice. 'What does it matter, it's not like this is a real date! I can't deal with this right now Ana' I shout at her and I go back to the group.
