— Carlos POV —

I was getting ready for the Italian grand prix, there was more pressure on the team. Since it was the team home race, there also would be some additional activities. Ana would also join me in the paddock, she was getting very touchy in front of the camera's. I really didn't like it, it was clear she was also using me for the fame. I couldn't really complain, I was also using her for other purposes.

I check my phone to see if Ella posted anything recently. My heart stops when I see her post.

I can't believe my eyes, that little weasel really went after her the first chance he got. If only Ella knew what type of men he really was. Everything would be different if Derek wasn't in the picture. Ella would be with me, I would be able to call her my girlfriend. I couldn't warn Ella about him, that was part of the deal.

Flashback
I was having dinner with my parents when I get a call from my pr manager. I decide to call her back after dinner. I don't see my parents that often, so when we spend time together I really want to be present. When I arrive back home I call back.
'Hi Carlos, thank you for calling me back, we have a bit of an unfortunate situation on our hands. It involves Ella and a guy named Derek? Does this mean anything to you? He wants to talk to you in person. He can meet you tomorrow.' What does that man want, I have a feeling it can't be anything good. 'Fine set it up, I want to know what his deal is.'

The next day I'm sitting in front of Derek, he has a smug look on his face. I just want to punch his stupid face, that is the man who broke my girl.
'Nice to finally meet the famous Carlos Sainz, I heard that you have been fucking my Ella.'
'First of all please don't talk about Ella like that, I have not just been fucking her. I love her and secondly she is not your Ella.' Did I just admitted that I love Ella? I didn't realise my feelings for her where already this strong.

'Love her? Please Ella knows that she is destined to be with me!' Derek says a little more aggressively.
'Derek what is it that you wanted? I don't think you are just here for some chit chat?' I just want this conversation to be over. 'I want you to leave Ella alone, I want you to break her heart and don't contact her anymore.' I can't believe this guy, ' I would never do anything to hurt her, are you crazy?'
However the look on his face doesn't promise anything good. ' Ella and I where together for 10 years, sometimes she missed me so bad she sent me some pictures. You know the kind of pictures she wouldn't like to be sent to a media site for example. It would ruin her and also the career she loves so much.' He keeps looking at me with a smirk on his face. I don't know what to do, I can't let Derek sent the pictures to anyone. I'm trying to come up with a solution, but I'm afraid there is only one thing I can do. And that is doing what he wants.
'Fine, you get what you want! I will break this off with Ella.' I really hope my team can find a solution soon. 'Remember, you have to break her heart, so than means you have to make her believe she meant nothing to you. I have an additional term to our deal, she has to believe you already moved on to somebody else.' I don't believe him, 'you mean, you want me to repeat what you did to her? That will break her.' The tears forming in my eyes. 'Exactly, that way I can be there to glue her back together.'
End of flashback

I can't take it anymore, I need a drink. We are already in a hotel in Italy. So I just go to the hotelbar. Since it's a hotel for the teams I would have the wanted privacy. I order some tequila shots and drink them one by one. 'Hey muppet, what has you drinking at 2 o'clock already' I look up, the moment I look into Lando's sympathetic eyes I just tell him the entire Derek story.
