Chapter 44

— Ella POV —

I felt the sun burning on my face, strange why didn't I close the blinds yesterday. Wait why was my head hurting so much. Oh right the party yesterday, I don't really seem to remember much. Suddenly I hear someone turning next to me. No, did I bring someone home yesterday? So I try to peak, I'm so relieved to see it's Lottie. I look at the time 12 o'clock, wow we skipped right to lunch.

I give Lottie a little push, 'Lottie we missed qualifying, do you want to look at it now? Or don't you wanna look any more?' I know if we want to look delayed I have to avoid all social media. 'Just watch it now from the bed, but I do need some coffee and breakfast first.' She groans while getting up.
'I'm on it!' I get up and head over to the kitchen, I make us both coffee and prepare a small breakfast. Then I head over to my bed again.

Qualifying is going great, my Ferrari boys are making me proud. They manage to get P1 and P3, first thing I want to do is text Carlos. But I can't do that, I look around to Lottie. She is already texting Lando on his P4. I'm so happy for her, she really deserves all the happiness. I grab my phone to keep me busy. First thing that I notice is a statement of Carlos on instagram, saying that he and Ana broke up. It makes sense of course, now that he doesn't have to keep up the appearance any more.

Then I notice my call history, I called Carlos at 3 in the morning. And even worse we talked for 10 minutes according to the caller history. How is it that I don't remember anymore. 'Lottie do you remember calling Carlos yesterday?' Her head snaps in my direction, 'oh no you didn't? Sorry I don't recall talking to him. Do you maybe remember why I scratched my knees open?' She looked down at her knees. What did we do yesterday? I knew mixing our drinks wasn't the best idea after all.

Should I sent him a text? I can't do that, it would be to embarrassing. Who knows what I said yesterday, I will just pretend like nothing happened. After Lottie is done texting Lando we decide to go out for a bit.
It was still really hot for the time of the year so we decide to go for a swim in her parents pool. Just to refresh and to make sure we are well rested to watch the race tomorrow.

'Can you take a picture to sent to Lando for me' Lottie asks shyly. 'Sure what are we going for mysterious, sexy, tell me' I smile at her. I take some pictures and we also take some together. 'These are cute, I'm sending them to Lando' she says. 'Smart make him see what he is missing.' I smile at her. Around 5 we decide to head back to my place, Lottie will be staying over so we can watch the came together. We just arrived home and I see a text from Carlos.
'Sweet dreams mi cielo, I'm going to win for you tomorrow xx'
Strange he doesn't mention the call from this night, what do I do? I decide to not completely ignore him and wish him a goodnight back.

We are about to go back to sleep when somebody rings the doorbell. 'Lottie can you go check, I'm changing so don't want to open in my underwear.'
'On my way.' She screams. When I'm done changing I go to the living room to see who was at the door. When I walk in I see Lottie standing there with a massive wildflower bouquet, 'wow, who sent those?' Lottie hands me a card, 'I think he really is sorry Ella.'

I open the card, already certain of who sent them. 'I miss you too, I will keep fighting for you. Forever yours Carlos.' I feel my heart fill with love for this man. I decide to sent him a text, to thank him for the flowers.

They are beautiful, do I want
to know what I said in our call?
Give it everything you have
Tomorrow, but I am
proud either way.
