Merry Christmas! Here is an extra chapter for today!

Before he could respond, a servant entered the kitchen and quickly bowed before speaking.

"Master Tokito, Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, and Tengen Uzui have arrived and are requesting to meet you this evening," she spoke. More Hashira were here now? I could barely handle the one in front of me right now.

"How strange, let them in," He responded before the servant went to bring in the other hashira. Muichiro returned to eating the meal I cooked, which made me feel happy to see how much he was enjoying it, but I kept that to myself.

"Wow, it must be true then!" A woman with beautiful bright pink and green hair exclaimed.

"Flashy!" The tall man behind her yelled out excitedly. I was a bit taken aback by their excitement so I bowed before introducing myself.

"Hello, I am Muichiro Tokito tsuguko, Kazi," I replied.

"AH! How cute! You must be the same age as little Muichiro. You are such a cutie, you are both so short! I wonder if that's just common for mist users," The woman responded as she came up and hugged me excitedly. Her short comment irritated me slightly but I was more surprised by her touch but accepted it regardless. She went to hug Muichiro as well who stood as stiff as a log to the physical affection. I had to hold myself back from laughter at the sight. It looked like a cat being held by an excited child.

"I can't believe you got yourself a tsugoku before us!" Tengen Uzui stated. He put his arms behind his head, almost touching the ceiling.

"That's because anyone would be scared to be either of you tsugukos. They would be afraid to become your next wife," Muichiro said pointing to Tengen then he pointed to Mitsuri, "Or because yours would be even worse than how Rengoku trained you," They both let out an exaggerated laugh and sigh respectively.

I couldn't hold back my laughter anymore as I let it slip while Muichiro looked at me curiously.

"Was what I said really that funny? I can't remember," He asked me bluntly. I froze back up and got my composure back. I saw him smile a little bit before the others started talking again.

"Aw Muichiro, let her laugh a bit. Especially with your training. We don't need her to become expressionless or so forgetful like a certain someone," Tengen replied. I smiled at the comment but for some reason, that seemed to annoy Muichiro as he stubbornly took a bite of his food.

Mitsuri grabbed my hands and dragged me away for a moment, leaving Tengen and Muichiro in the kitchen. I was surprised but I went along with it as she took me to the main living room.

"Muichiro would be annoyed if I said this in front of him, but I hope you train well with him. He may seem without emotions, but I can sense love and kindness within him. Don't be discouraged, okay?" She said smiling. I loved her. No wonder she is the love hashira. I simply nodded my head at her words of encouragement before returning with her to the boys.

We spent some time discussing how I joined the corps and trained. They were surprised to learn how quickly I was progressing, even though I didn't hold a candle to Muichiro becoming a Hashira in a span of two months. I didn't mention to them how Muichiro was the one who saved me, as he probably didn't want everyone to know for some reason. I couldn't quite figure him out.

"How tragic. I am happy you are here though and I know you will bring a lot of joy to the world by stopping the demons with us!" Mitsuri encouraged.

"Yeah, make sure to live flashy going forward!" Tengen encouraged. Muichiro stayed quiet through the exchange. Mitsuri looked at him curiously but had a strange smirk on her face, I couldn't figure out why. I smiled at their encouragements before bidding them goodnight with Muichiro.

"What did they even want?" Muichiro asked me with his normal tone. I shrugged my shoulders. I guess we both feel a bit cloudy about the whole exchange. They certainly are strange, but kind people.

I turned to go to my room for the night when I suddenly felt Muichiro grab my wrist. I didn't hear him move again but his grip was so tight. I turned to see what he was stopping me from as I looked at him curiously. He loosened his grip when he realized how strong he was.

"We need to train," He told me. I was surprised, as I thought he was done already for today, but I only nodded as I followed him back outside to his porch, rubbing my wrist. I guess, it is my home now too, so our porch. I put myself in a defensive stance I called forth some mist this time. He seemed ready so I started to practice my hand-to-hand combat with him yet again. I tried to disarm and take him down again but to no avail. Yet, he was more aggressive with me than this morning, his calm demeanor replaced with tactical focus.

He quickly overpowered me, but this time, instead of standing still, he ended up on top of me, holding me down. I guess I got too aggressive so he needed to hold me down. I suppose that means I am improving. He noticed me on the ground and was unable to move because he had locked my arms and my legs in place before he blushed slightly and let me go.

"Better. Go to sleep," He told me coldly before turning away from me and leaving for his room. I was surprised at his attitude. I really didn't understand him.

I did as instructed. I cleaned myself up and tried to sleep for the night. When I did finally fall asleep, I began to dream of the night Muichiro saved me. I knew my total concentration was broken. This nightmare was the only thing that ever broke my total concentration anymore as I started to panic in my dream, yet, I was unable to wake up.

I felt my body being shaken violently as I woke up and saw those turquoise eyes looking back at me again. For the first time, I saw concern in his eyes. He took his hand and brought it close to my face, and wiped the tears I didn't notice off of my cheeks. I realized I was crying from the nightmare. I must have accidentally woken him up with my nightmare.

"You are safe now, I am right here, I will protect you," He told me softly. I was taken aback by his kind words. His eyes seemed different, more, soft. I sat up and nodded at him. I got my total concentration and breathing back under control but he stayed by my side.

He grabbed my hand and examined my wrist from early. It didn't hurt anymore, but it was still a little bit red as he rubbed it gently and put my hand back down gently. I wasn't sure what he was thinking, and my mind felt too foggy to understand his intentions.

"I can't forget you," He spoke to me softly. I was surprised but stayed still, wanting to listen to what he was going to say. I brought my knees to my chest as he looked down at the floor, obviously confused with himself.
