Unforgettable // Muichiro X Reader // Lemon

A vacation

The next two days went by in a flash. Tanjiro had already completed his training before anyone else, so we pulled him aside while allowing the other recruits to continue practicing their swings.

"Your body condition is perfect. Go to the next pillar Tanjiro!" Muichiro cheerfully announced. Tanjiro seemed shocked and looked to me for validation and I nodded my head in agreeance. He excelled in everything we taught him.

"Huh? But it's only been five days!" He exclaimed, confused by us passing him so soon.

"Well, you did everything we asked," Muichiro said with a smile. It is sweet, he only smiles with me and now Tanjiro. 

"Well, okay! Thank you for everything you taught me!" Tanjiro nodded excitedly.

"Thank you, for helping Muichiro recover his memories," I said with a smile as Muichiro looked at me surprised. I saw him blush slightly as Tanjiro only smiled.

"TANJIRO!" A familiar excited tone rang from behind us as Mitsuri ran to Tanjiro to engulf him in a hug. Right on time, just like we planned. 

She didn't have to come to pick him up, but I knew she wanted an excuse to see us again and eat my cooking. I took my leave to the kitchen to finish preparing the lunch for the recruits and ten extra plates for Mitsuri.

As I was leaving, the obnoxious one started asking if they could graduate training yet, being that they had been here two weeks already.

"What are you even on? Once you are done with those swings we are going to practice so hard the training area will collapse on itself," he threatened with a flat expression as they all let out a collective groan. I held back my laughter.

I made sure to prepare lots of sprouts, tempura, and sakura mochi since it may be a while before I see Tanjiro and Mitsuri again. I could tell they were ecstatic to have their favorite foods available when everyone shuffled in to eat.

Oddly though, Mitsuri didn't eat all of her plates right away, she disappeared with Muichiro for a moment, stating she needed to ask him for some advice about training and she didn't want to bore me.

After a moment, I heard Mitsuri let out one of her iconic sequels of excitement, but I shrugged it off and made sure the recruits had their fill. I hope they will be able to hold it when the training resumes shortly.

After a few minutes, they returned and finished their meals. As Tanjiro grabbed his things to leave, I gave him and Mitsuri a hug. They were both shocked to be the ones receiving a hug from me for once. I blushed slightly but they accepted me warmly.

"Take care, both of you!" I smiled cheerfully as we waved goodbye. I saw a smile on Muichiro's face when he noticed how happy I am lately. What more could I ask for? I have friends and an amazing lover now.

After the day was finished, I received a letter from the Master that I had to go meet the other hashira in one week. I let Muichiro know, as he obviously would come with me, and sent our response back. I made sure to give their crow a small treat though before they left.

"What do you prefer, beaches or mountains?" Muichiro suddenly asked me as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Uh," I looked up to the ceiling, pondering his sudden question. "I prefer the mountains. I was born and raised in the mountains, they remind me of home, and love," I explained. He blushed slightly at my response before he kissed my cheek.

"Me too. I was born in Mt. Kagenobu, I think your original village was close to mine right?" He asked. When I thought about it, he was right. Our villages were relatively close to each other, but we never met until the night he saved me. 

"Yeah," I mentioned, thinking about my family. I haven't thought about them in a long time, causing me to feel a twinge of sadness. Muichiro noticed and squeezed me tighter.

"Let's go on a vacation, before the Hashira meeting to our home mountain," he said. I was surprised at his request. 

I never would have thought to go back there, and I assumed the same for Muichiro, but if we went together, maybe we could make new, happy memories together. 

"Okay! Let's go on a vacation together!" I said excitedly as he smiled before kissing me passionately. 

"Is it one of your safe days?" He asked with a smirk before his tongue met mine in another night of passion.

The next morning, we let the recruits know we would return in a week. They were expected to continue practicing, but they all seemed relieved to see us go. 

I thought there would be more to prepare, but Muichiro seemed to have everything already done. He even packed our bags and ordered us a ride to a private inn already. I wonder how long he has been planning this for.

"How did you say you found this place again?" I asked him while we sat in the wooden carriage together. The trip felt longer just sitting in here instead of running, but it was still a comfortable and beautifully decorated ride.

"Tengen recommended it. He said there is even a private hot spring out back," He calmly explained. 

I shouldn't be surprised that Tengen told Muichiro about a private vacation cabin, but I still couldn't shake the mental image of him giving a thumbs up to Muichiro for taking me on a vacation he recommended. Even so, I was excited at what was to come as I looked out the window and noticed we were approaching a small bustling town, meaning we must be close.

Eventually, we reached a private inn that was beautifully designed. It had wooden logs engraved with flowers and lanterns adorned everywhere. Wisteria flowers were growing all around the property, giving us both a sigh of relief that it would truly be a vacation for us.

Muichiro grabbed my hand as we made our way inside the cabin. The inside was just as grand as the outside. It was a beautiful cabin, even if it was somewhat small having only one bedroom. We put away our things and went outside to look at the setting sun.

Directly outside the back though was a hot spring overlooking the mountainside. The view was gorgeous as wisteria flowers hung down on the sides, allowing the sweet smell to fill the air as we stared in awe at the view so familiar yet so new to both of us.

Everything was so beautiful. His hand felt so natural in mine, I felt at peace as we looked at the setting sun together. The warmth of the hot spring steam filled us with comfort and everything felt so perfect. I was so excited to see what was to come on our vacation, and for our future together.

"I have something to ask you," Muichiro stated suddenly before I noticed a deep blush on his face. The rays from the setting sun made him appear to be glowing as he took a deep breath. He seemed nervous, but I wasn't sure why.

He suddenly took my left hand and knelt down on one knee, sliding a golden band with a large glowing blue diamond at the top onto my ring finger. The blue ring matched his eyes, it was stunning.

"Will you be my wife?" He asked me while looking up into my eyes. He smiled as I felt the happiest tears known to exist flow down my cheeks.
