Amidst the shadows and the secrets

Night Seventy-Five

Did she? Was she waking up when I kissed Reiji? Did we not pick up signs earlier? I want someone to know, yes, but not to have Yui find out I was kissing Reiji right next to her. "Are you sure?"

Yui shrugged. "It could've been my dream, who knows. Did I sleep for long?"

Chisana shook no. "My alarm didn't make a sound yet. But since you are awake it's best to get up. You won't sleep much during the day and we do have a full moon tomorrow."

Not hearing anything about herself or Reiji, Yui knew it was best to keep quiet about it. If she was with someone, she would want some time and privacy with the man so she understood her friend. "Thanks, I'll be right back."

Done with her letter, Chisana folded it and put it in the envelope. Nice to know that he does have a mansion here in the human world, but he needs to be careful. Seiko and Yoshi might not be around but Yudai is. She exited her room and went to another one. Where she knocked and went inside. "The one thing I don't have are post stamps." She tried to find one of his brothers close by. No one is around, nice. "Can you miss one, darling?"

Reiji got a kiss from her first before taking her mail. "Sure." He read her father's name on it. "How is everything going for him? With him and not the mansion."

"He mentioned to have some answers, but he's still searching while decorating the mansion." She smiled when he put a post stamp on it. "Are we going to the city or will someone else? I don't want to wait that long before it's away with the mail."

He nodded. "Give me a moment to finish this first. I wanted to have a head start on some science projects."

"You are working on possible homework assignments? What happens if you do one that doesn't end up as homework? Reiji, it's vacation."

"I know, but I will save it for something in between. Don't worry about it, I only do this today." Finishing up, he cleaned the table and turned to her. "How about right now? Did you have plans for tonight?"

"No, but if you let me, I can buy a puzzle. I'll go get my bag and wallet." She found herself back in her room because he teleported them.

"Grab a cardigan too," he mentioned. "It might be chilly outside with the wind."

She came back from her walk-in closet with a cardigan on. "I thought you would say that." With her shoulder bag, she walked into his arms and was instantly elsewhere. "That's one thing I do envy you for. You don't get cold or warm anymore and can wear whatever you want without getting sick." Wanting to walk out of the alley and into the shopping street, she was pulled back.

"Oh, I can get warm. Just not as warm as a human being and that's because of you." He laughed and brought his head down for a kiss.

In the moment, she wrapped her arms around him to enjoy the kiss even more. Happy she hooked her arm into his and walked into the shopping street.

The letter in the mail, Chisana found herself looking at some puzzles. Which one do I want? With animals, flowers, something more cultural, or a beach setting?

"Can't choose one?" Reiji did like to see her try other things. "Are you going to try more things or not?"

Smiling, she looked further and saw one with all the landmarks from all around the world. "No, I'm just looking for a few things to do with Yui. I have a few things for when I'm alone, but you know I like doing things with her as well. She mentioned it the other time."
