Night Seventy-Two

Walking outside with her receipt, Chisana took his hand. "I like the purple in it, the frame, and I saw your reaction to it." 

"It will be ready to pick up on Friday." Reiji took her to a shop around the corner. "Those nose pads need to be replaced on time. For me, it's every five weeks. Sometimes four weeks because I wear them all the time. For you that should be every six or seven weeks, otherwise, they'll turn yellow due to the dirt." He took a shopping basket and led her through the shop to the part of facial care. "What kind of masks do you want?"

"The affordable ones." She laughed, seeing his face. "Nothing crazy or a brand of some kind. Just the normal shop brand is good enough. Like this one."

He saw what she picked and found a few others, which ended up in the basket. "Facial masks, hair masks, what else? Do you want purple nail polish in case Yui doesn't have it?" He did find nail polish remover. "Just pick a few colors you like."

Okay. Being a critic and with the colors in mind that she has in her closet, she picked purple, blue, green, and brown. Neutral colors and that's good enough that it fits with my clothes. Let's see how much I can take. She added a grey and white one.

"Two more and then we have to go back home." He let her know while throwing in some cotton pads.

Hmm, I want to surprise him sometimes, and even if he sees the colors, he won't know when I could paint my nails again. She picked black and red. "I like the idea of pampering myself tomorrow with Yui. It will be a surprise for her."

He saw the red one. "She'll be thrilled, I'm sure."

"Hmm, do you think she has a hairband?" What if she doesn't? That will be tricky with the facial masks. "I only have one." Laughing, she found a pink one. "Her hair would get in the way." She felt him grab the hairband, toss it in the basket, and walk away. "Love you, darling."

He stopped in his tracks and turned around, hearing the endearing nickname. She never called him that, and she just did in public no less. Opening his free arm for her, she walked right into it and gave her a kiss. "It's the first time you call me that."

"You do it too sometimes, and I love it when you do." Standing on her toes, she kissed him. "And I like your reaction. I was hoping to be alone with you and this qualifies since your brothers aren't around."

Knowing his smile wouldn't go for a while, he took her to the register and paid for it. With the bag, he went back to the car with his arm around her. Once in the car going back home, he pulled her on his lap. "Call me that again."

"Darling?"

He kissed her and laid his arms around her. "Again," he mumbled against her lips.

She smiled in the kiss. "I love you, darling." He can make me smile like a fool too when he calls me that. Do I have the same effect on him? Oh dear, he might stay in his room just to avoid the others so his mood won't be ruined.

Enjoying the kiss, he kept her on his lap. Even if it meant she could feel what it did to him.

I do like our little make-out sessions. She pouted for a moment because that's one thing she can't do with him at home. And she happened to be in her room, unpacking everything for tomorrow night. Stalling everything on the bathroom counter, she went back to her room. Where she put her nail polish on the vanity table. Together with the nail polish remover and cotton pads. I'm sure she'll love it.

"What are you smiling about, Chisa-chan?" Laito saw the nail polish. "What color will you choose first?" He did move back since he could sense his brother all over her. "Don't answer it yet, answer this question first. Did Reiji bite you?"
