NERV HQ, TESTING LAB 1

Ritsuko: Asuka, did you hear me? Just do it like you always do. Don't think about anything else.

Asuka: I'm not! This is what I always do!

Maya: I wonder what's wrong with Asuka? She's doing so poorly today.

Ritsuko: I know, but unfortunately we don't have time for this right now... Let's shift our priorities back to Units 00 and 09. *To Asuka* Asuka, I believe that'll be enough for right now.

Asuka: What? But I can still keep going.

Ritsuko: I know but we found an error in 02's system and its best we fix it now before you or anyone else gets hurt.

Asuka: Alright then.

The scene then pans out to show the current state of EVA-02. Her head was still disconnected from her body but her arms were back in place thanks to the spare parts from the other EVA projects. A swarm of engineers in diving gear is seen swimming around to repair the decapitated EVA.

Asuka's entry plug is then ejected and goes to the exit valve of the test lab tank.

Misato's Condo

Misato is seen getting ready for work as Shinji is already dressed for school and is giving Pen-pen his breakfast.

Misato: Hey Shinji, how are you readjusting to school?

Shinji: ...Huh?

Misato: Like how are you feeling? You're not anxious or anything are you? You know since you came back? It has been a couple of months after all.

Shinji: Oh, I've been okay. I still feel awkward around Toji because of what happened and its not like I can just stay home and not go like Asuka or (Y/n).

Misato: I had a feeling that you would feel that way, and I know there's no easier way to get through that sense of awkwardness but to just keep going. It's a part of the job, unfortunately.

Shinji: I know, but I just can't get over the fact that he would have died if neither Ash nor (Y/n) was there... It really shows how much I have left to learn to be as dependable.

Misato: It does, I think we all need to take notes from them. I'll see you when I get home. Okay?

Shinji: Okay, have a good day Misato.

Misato: You too Shinji.

Misato then walks out the front door and makes her way to work, while Shinji pets Pen-pen and goes to finish getting ready for school.
