CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN
"Cris?" I asked weakly, crying. I then gave him a huge hug snuggling up to him. Then my mom and Caroline came up slowly. I let go of Cris and ran after them giving them both a tight hug. Then Jason came out, I looked at him and gestured him into the hug.
I let go of them and looked at them all. "Where have you guys been?" I asked with tears but also sternly. They all looked at the girl I just freaked out on.
"She's where we were." Cris told me quietly as everyone was still looking at her. "Well, her and her boss. The lead vampire." He said sounding sad. I have him a hug, and he pushed me away.
"What's a matter?" I asked him shocked. He looked at me dearly. I saw it. He was sad because ...
"You can no longer be a vampire. I don't want to get attached to you then accidentally hurt you." He looked down really disappointed. "We can no longer see each other." I went speechless, then started crying. I grabbed Cris and was clenching him.
"No, no you can't, I love you, please. I need you. I can't live without you. I have to have you." I said sobbing not letting go of Cris. "Wait why can I no longer be a vampire?" I asked changing my voice but still crying. I was still holding on to Cris, but was further apart looking him in his eyes.
"The lead vampire doesn't like you." He said starting to cry. He held me tight to him.
"I'm no longer a vampire, can't breath!" I said trying to catch my breath. He realized what he was doing then released a little.
"Sorry. I love you, but I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to leave you, but it's for the best." He said crying and holding onto me.
"I'm going to miss you." I was barely able to get that out because I was sobbing. "I will never forget you."
"I'm going to miss you too, and I won't forget you ether." He said crying. We gave each other one more hug then Cris brought me and my family home.
"I love you, and don't forget that." I said leaning in for one last kiss.
"I won't." Then he went for the last kiss. "Don't forget that I love you too."
"I won't, I promise." I said not wanting him to go. "Bye, forever I guess." I was tearing up again.
"I guess so. Bye." He said also tearing up. When he ran away I ran to my room and sobbed. I didn't come out till the next day.
I got up got ready for school and walked to school. Jason was waiting for me at Cris's old tree. "I guess he really did leave." I started sobbing.
"Why did you have to talk about that?" I said like I would never forgive him. "I'm having a hard enuf time already and then you have to come and point out the obvious!" I said angry and sad.
"Sorry, Jamie, I didn't know he meant so much to you." I looked up in a 'no da' look on my face. "I'm sorry. It'll get better."
