CHAPTER THITY-EIGHT

Jason and I finally got to school. I now had red baggy eyes, because I was crying. I went to a table with Jason and I felt like every one was looking at me. I ate breakfast and went to class not wanting to deal with anything or anyone.

Then someone bumped into me, it was the girl that I almost tackled, I would have been all over her for doing that but I was to bummed out. I started tearing up, thinking about Cris.

"Are you ok?" She asked me, so kindly. I shook my head. "What's a matter?"

"My boyfriend left." I said about to sob. She looked at me with the 'that explains it' look.

"Well, hope you get better. My name is Maeve." She held out a hand. I looked at it, then at her, then I shook it.

"My name is ..." I started. Then Maeve interrupted me.

"I already know, Jamie." She said. "Listen, I'm sorry about what I did to you earlier in the year." She said sorrowful.

"It's fine." I said rubbing my arm looking down. "If anyone I should be." I said slightly looking up.

"Why?" She said, confused. Then the bell rang to go to class.

"I'll tell you at lunch." Then walked into my first class, waving to my new friend, Maeve.

At lunch I sat at my usual table with Jason, and Maeve came up to me. I could see the surprise on Jason's face.

"So what were you going to tell me?" Maeve asked me. I looked at Jason then back at Maeve.

"The reason I'm sorry is because I almost pounced on you, and bet you up." I said uneasily. She looked at me shocked. Then she snapped out of it.

"Well, I started it, I guess we both can be sorry." She said resolving the problem. I shrugged like 'that's fine'. "The reason I started that I because you were hanging out with the hottest boy in school, and I was jealous." She said ashamed. "But I guess he's your now." She sounded sad.

"But now he's gone, so nether one of us can have him." I said trying to cheer her up, but inside I was crying that Cris was gone.

"Ya, I guess so." She said a little happier, which made me a little happier.
