3 Months (Part 1)

"Here's what I was thinking. You like Patrick and I like Sky. Why don't we pretend to date and in 3 months, you'll be together with him and I'll be with her! Simple."

The one where Sara Lin likes Patrick and Oliver likes Skyler so why not?

Based on To All the Boys I've Loved Before because Sara definitely gives off some Lara Jean vibes. We're also going to pretend Skyler and the band go to the same school as Oliver and the crew.

Sara get home from school one day in hot early August. She feels her hair stick to her forehead, her face red, but she is still smiling as she thinks about the one guy that's on her mind.

Patrick Gong.

They've been best friends forever and she hoped one day that it would be something more but she couldn't tell how he felt. When she closes her door and turns on her fan, she glances over to the red heart-shaped box her mom left her before passing. With an idea in mind, she decided that if she couldn't verbally say it, words would do the trick. 

Sara grabbed some writing paper she kept on hand and began to write whatever her heart desired. How his chocolate hair tucked under his cap just right. How his blue eyes seemed to be an ocean of excitement. How she wished she could just tell him everything in this letter but just couldn't because their friendship was too important. She longed for a day where he would just admit his feelings, take her on a white horse, and sweep her away.

Too much?

Sara finished the letter and then added it to the box and placed it high in the closet of her room where no one would notice it. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and went to do her homework. It was just another day for her but little did she know that this was all going to change very soon.

Oliver Yang just finished up at band practice. As his mates cheered and high-fived, he glanced slyly at the girl who made his heart beat faster. Skyler. She laughed at something one of her bandmates was saying when everyone heard a rev from outside.

"Eric!" She exclaims happily and runs to meet him by his bike. While everyone is happy to see him, Oliver scoffs under his breath. He knew he was better than that guy but Skyler didn't seem to even notice. As everyone finished packing their things after seeing Eric, everyone went their separate ways. As Oliver walked, he sighed wondering if his being shy was the reason why he and Skyler didn't date at some point. He felt a spark from her and knew it. Even his bandmates noticed.

As he was getting on the elevator, he heard a tiny "wait" come and quickly put his hand to stop the elevator. Sara thanked him profusely and Oliver smiled at her small. Sara always seemed to have her mind in the clouds. As they talked, Oliver asked what was on her mind and she explained her situation with Patrick. He gasped as he realized she was in the same situation as him.

"Sara, before we do tutoring, I have an idea. I'm going to think it out but I think I know how to get Patrick to date you. We'll talk about it then." Oliver explained and Sara jumped for joy and hugged Oliver saying he was the best before rushing into her apartment.

As he closed the door of his shared room, he felt his heart beat a bit quicker but brushed it off.

Totally adrenaline. 

The next day, Sara met Oliver for tutoring as always and Oliver waved at her as she came in and closed the door.

"Here's what I was thinking. You like Patrick and I like Sky. Why don't we pretend to date and in 3 months, you'll be together with him and I'll be with her! Simple." Oliver exclaimed and Sara's eyebrows raised. This shy quiet kid who usually has logic on his side thought this was the answer. Sara wasn't so sure.

"Here. Let's make a contract and you can add what you'd like and I will too. We call it in 3 months if nothing changes. It'd be a quick "we're better off as friends" moment and we go back to normal. No harm." Oliver said nonchalantly. For some reason, he was very confident in his plan. Skyler definitely had feelings for him. He just knew it.

"Oliver, this is crazy but...let's do it."

The contract was drafted and signed.

The Contract of Oliver and Sara

1. Oliver and Sara will walk to and from school together every day and write each other love notes. They also will post about each other on Instagram.

2. Oliver will come over for dinner two times a week.

3. Sara will learn guitar from Oliver two times a week.

4. Sara will go to Oliver's Math Decathlon in 3 months (the final event before the contract ends)

5. Nobody tells anyone about the contract, ever!

"When does this start?" Sara asked nervously. Sara really doesn't know if this is the best move but she trusts Oliver and is curious.

"Tomorrow" Oliver nods and puts his hand out and Sara nods slowly, grabbing his hand to shake.

They both move back quickly, blaming electricity as the cause and then get ready for tomorrow.

This was going to be an interesting 3 months.
