Joe's POV
Oliver and I walked home after I closed up shop. As we walked, I glanced at Oliver who seemed lost in thought but in a good way. He was giddy but cautious, which is very Oliver of him to be.
"Oliver. I think she's different. She doesn't seem to be like...Skyler" I say cautiously towards the end and Oliver nods slowly. Skyler was Oliver's ex and she left him high and dry saying she wouldn't mind long distance when he moved but broke up with him a week after he moved in with me.
Oliver shook his head, wanting to shake away the thought of her and any possibility of her ruining this I think.
"I'm going to try my best," Oliver said slowly and I nodded and smiled. Oliver wanting to try is something big in and of itself. It's been a while since he's even been on a date so this is great.
"Very proud of you bro. Go get her." I say, encouraging him and he smiles while also blushing.
Third Person POV
Two weeks later, Oliver got ready in the mirror, fixing his hair for the millionth time. He feels like Sara would not care about what he looked like but it mattered to him.

Oliver got to Hotpot early, ensuring that his reservation was still there even though they texted him, and reassured him over the phone, and in person that it was there.
"Hi, Oliver! Sorry if I'm late. My dad was being a bit weird. I'm excited though!" Sara waved at him and laughed. Oliver blushed and said it was okay.
"You look great Sara" Oliver mumbled and Sara smiled.

"You do too Oli! Come on! Let's go in." She smiled and gently grabbed his wrist and led him into the restaurant. Oliver looked down at Sara's dainty hand around his wrist and his heart started to race.
