When Sara gets cold and borrows Oliver's hoodie, Oliver realizes that he wants to see her in it a lot more often
AN: It's 1AM and here I am typing!
Vicky, Joe, Oliver, and Sara decided to go to the local carnival in town. The Ferris wheel, carnival games, and food just were calling to them as they passed by in Joe's car. Once they parked, the girls ran out excitedly while the brothers trailed behind, the nippy air showing as Oliver let out a slow breath.
"Hey. This would be a great moment to make a-" Joe started but Oliver shook his head, face already red as they were walking. Oliver was partially grateful so Joe wouldn't tease him from the obvious blush that took over his face. Joe's been wanting Oliver to make a move for a while but he doesn't think Sara sees him in that way. He liked their friendship and wasn't going to risk it for a feeling.
Besides...dating is dumb, right? Recipe for failure.
"I'll make a move when you make one for Vicky," Oliver said, a slight smirk crossing his face. Joe scratched the back of his head, cringing a bit when realizing what that meant.
"Fine. You win for now but who knows what the night brings?" Joe says out loud. The boys eventually caught up with the girls and they went and bought tickets and while each girl protested their (future) boys from paying, neither one minded at all.
"Oliver, you didn't have to. My dad gave me money. Can I pay you back?" Sara asked and Oliver shook his head.
"Don't worry about it, Sara Lin. I wanted to" and Oliver gave Sara a smile that just took her breath away. A slight blush crept on her face as she smiled and nodded, thanking him again. As the night went on, the duos eventually went their ways, Joe citing that Vicky wanted to go on the bumper cars and didn't want the others to wait forever for them.
Oliver raised an eyebrow as Joe shooed them along and Vicky giggled a bit as they walked away.
"Do you think that something will happen? Between Sara and Oliver." Vicky asked and Joe looked back at his brother, noticing he was laughing at what Sara was saying. He looked like he was trying to relax with her.
He was trying.
"I don't know but I hope so," Joe mentions as they move up in line in the bumper cars. The lights were glowing bright as Vicky looked up and smiled, commenting on everything at the carnival and Joe smiled at her. Vicky being whimsical made Joe stare at her unintentionally.
"Joe...Joe! The line's moving" Vicky smiled and Joe shook out of it before following Vicky, but not before he noticed the slight blush taking over her face.
Back by Sara Lin and Oliver, They were playing carnival games with tickets and Sara was doing amazing. Oliver looked stunned as Sara won a basketball game in one shot, winning a stuffed duck and smiling big.
"Wow Sara Lin, you are...awesome!" Oliver said breathlessly and Sara laughed. She thanked him, gently touching his shoulder before beckoning him to another game because as Sara said
"I'm not done yet Oliver Yang!"
Sara continues to win games by knocking milk bottles down, fishing for the duck with the lucky star on it, and even the ring toss. Sara cheered as she added her stuffed pig to the giant plastic bag Oliver was carrying for her.
"Yay! Oliver can you believe-" Sara began before she felt a chill go through her. Her thin windbreaker was not doing it for her as the wind was picking up.
"Sara, are you okay?" Oliver asked concerned and Sara nodded.
"I'll be okay. I just wish I wore a bigger jacket. It's a bit colder than the weather said on my phone. Let's go to the next-" Sara was saying before Oliver put the plastic bag down, gently grasping his glasses.
