"I promise that it will always be you Sara Lin"

Or the one where they exchange promise rings :)

Oliver's POV

The sun was out to a cool 72 according to Joe. There were a couple of clouds in the sky and a few kids running around but otherwise, it was perfect.

Sara's senior year was ending, and when she expressed she was worried about her and Oliver being long-distance, he knew he had to do something to help lessen the stress. He fiddled with the silver promise ring in his pocket, rubbing his thumb on the etched "I love you" in the ring band.

Oliver asked Vicky two weeks ago to help him and was blushing while she cooed at him. They searched online until they found this one. It was simple, yet perfect like how Oliver thought of their relationship. Oliver hoped Sara having this would remind her that even though they are far away, he still thinks of the world of her.

Just thinking that made Oliver cringe a bit, but he was certain.

There was nobody like Sara Lin. He knew it from the moment he laid eyes on her.

Nobody just asks you to kiss them in the subway unexpectedly after all.

"Are you ready?" Joe asked and Oliver felt his face turn red, bringing a chuckle out of Joe. He couldn't believe he would even be doing this, nevertheless in a public space but he was proud of Oliver and how he was expressing his love for Sara. It was beautiful.

"Vicky says they are almost here" Joe smiles. He pats Oliver on the shoulder before giving him a brotherly pep talk and while Oliver rolls his eyes, he is grateful his brother was there for him. He tugged at his blue sweater to loosen it but still felt a tightness in his throat. He walks briskly to the set area and waits at the end for Sara while Vicky and she enter the park.

Sara's POV

"Vick, it's like 60 degrees. Why are we at the park?" Sara asked confused and Vicky smiled.

"It's 72. Joe told me." Vicky quips and Sara shakes her head. Of course, Joe knows.

As they walked, a small poster appeared with "Sara" on it along with a pink envelope with a pig and Sara raised an eyebrow.

"Vicky, what is this?" Sara asked but turned to see Vicky was gone. Sara did a full circle before going to the poster. She picks up the envelope and curiosity and opens it.

"Follow the signs to finally see mine. -Oliver"

Sara smiles excitedly and finds the next sign in the distance. She notices there are pictures of them at each sign along with two letters on each one and a number. She gets to a table with a pink envelope on it, telling her to figure out the message on it. She eventually gets the message and says it out loud.

" I PROMISE. I promise what?" Sara asks confused and hears a voice "I promise to be there for you." Sara turns to see her golden-haired boy, a bit red from the snow and smiling small.

"I promise to listen to anything you say because your voice is one of my favorite things to hear. I promise to send you those silly cat pictures that make you smile when you are sad. I promise to take you to hotpot as often as I can. I promise to look after your dad and Vicky when you are far away but most of all, I promise to still put us first despite the distance." Oliver says as he fiddles in his pocket and brings out the black velvet box. Sara gasps as Oliver opens it to show her the promise ring for her.

"Sara Lin, I promise to not give up on us despite anything that will happen down the line. I don't want you to worry about that. This promise ring is what it means. I...I love you Sara and my heart still races to hear that even though we've said it before. I want you to have this. I promise that it will always be you, Sara Lin. Do you accept my promise ring?" Oliver asks and Sara's eyes well up with tears. She knew this must have been a lot for Oliver and was so happy he did this for her.

"I accept Oliver. I love you too. Thank you. This means more to me than you know." Sara says, letting out a cry and hugging him in one of the most heartfelt hugs Oliver has had in a long time. He hugs her back, putting as much emotion as he can into it, a tear escaping his eye. They eventually let go, and Oliver slips her ring onto her finger, before sliding his onto his finger and they smile at each other.

They hear cheers and see Vicky, Patrick, Tammy, and Joe, whoop and cheer and they smile at them as they interlock fingers, knowing their promise to each other is stronger than anything.
