An AU where Oliver works at a coffee shop, Sara Lin always goes to the coffee shop, and Joe is Olivara's number one fan.

Oliver's POV

I hear the ding go off from the coffee shop, and look up to welcome the customer in.

"Welcome to Yang's Delights," I say as happy as I can. While I'm making money from tutoring already, I wanted more money for a guitar so I decided to take some shifts at my dad's coffee shop. I see a girl I know goes to my school but I never talk to her and there's a reason for that.

I can't talk to girls.

They make me so nervous, and this one was no different. This is worse because she's exactly my type. 

Beautiful eyes.

Nice smile.

And god, why does she have to have red hair? An absolute weakness.

I can tell I'm overthinking as I'm deep in thought and all of a sudden see a hand wave in front of my face. The redhead smiles small and begins to talk.

"Hi. I was asking what flavors of cupcakes you have today." She asked and I began to explain the flavors. Red Velvet, Chocolate, Strawberry, Salted Caramel, and Nana's Secret.

"Is Nana's Secret a secret worth trying to explore?" She wondered out loud, eyes drifting to Oliver while his face turned a bit red. He nods and she smiles, saying she'll take it to try. Oliver bags it up while Sara pays and thanks him and she leaves the shop. Oliver let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in and Joe shook his head.

"Oliver, you almost died talking to that girl...and was that red hair I saw? She's perfect." Joe sings in a teasing tone and Oliver hits his arm.

That was enough for Oliver for the day.

The next day, A ding goes off and Oliver looks up again to see the same redhead coming in. Oliver silently curses, but welcomes her in and she smiles.

"Hi! I just wanted to say that Nana's Secret was amazing! Thanks so much. What's your name?" She asks and Oliver freezes, which makes Sara giggle.

"Oh Oliver! I was expecting you to verbally say it but a name tag works too! I'm Sara Lin. Lovely to meet you." She smiles and Oliver mentally melts at how happy she is. Sara buys a strawberry cupcake and sits in the shop today, surprising him.

Joe comes out from the back and glances at Oliver as he glances at Sara. Knowing his brother would never make a move, Joe says out loud "Oh Oliver. Yes of course you can take your break. I'll man the register" and both Sara and Oliver glance at Joe while he smiles.

"Come have a seat then Oliver!" Sara says, waving him over and Oliver's heart nearly falls out of his chest. Oliver sits while Sara nibbles on her cupcakes.

"Tell me about yourself, Oliver," Sara asks and Oliver freezes up, making Joe giggle and cover it with a cough. Oliver mentally sends daggers his brother's way.

"Shy? No worries. I'll start off and if you're comfortable, you can mention something." Sara says and then begins explaining about why she moved to the area, her dad, and how she sucks at math. This got Oliver's attention.

"I'm good at math. I can tutor you." Oliver mumbles and Sara lights up. Oliver mentally freaks out. Why would he volunteer himself when he gets so nervous?

Cause girls are pretty and she is gorgeous.

"Oh, could you?! That would be amazing." Sara smiles and claps for joy. Oliver's face turns red and Sara raises an eyebrow. He does this a lot.

"You turn red a lot. Are you okay? Catching a fever maybe?" Sara asks confused as she leans over and presses the back of her hand to Oliver's cheek. Oliver's eyes widen as she does this.

"Hmm... I think you're good but monitor it. If you need soup or anything, let me know. I cook for my dad all the time. Speaking of, I gotta go. Enjoy the rest of your break, Oliver." Sara says as she gathers her items, does a quick wave, and then heads on out.

"Not perfect, but progress. Proud of you baby bro." Joe smiles and Oliver just gives a meek thumbs up and touches softly where she touched his forehead, smiling small.

As time goes on, it seems like clockwork. Sara comes in, picks a cupcake out, and then Oliver takes his break or lunch to help her with math and while she struggles at first, she eventually gets the hang of it. Oliver even begins to open up which makes both of them happy. When they finished up their recent math session, Oliver was about to get up to leave when Sara grabbed Oliver's hand.

"Thanks again, Oliver. I appreciate you doing this. You're great." Sara smiles and Oliver nods, laughing nervously.

"I'm glad I can help Sara. You're great too. More than great actually. You're-" Oliver stops himself and covers his mouth. Joe listens in as he helps a customer and Sara smiles.

"Glad we're on the same page Oliver. I'll see you on Monday." She says as she gently raises her hand to his face and gently pokes his cheek. His face scrunches up and turns a slight shade of pink as well as Sara's while she gets her things and leaves. Oliver sighs and turns to Joe who raises his eyebrows.

"I think she's starting to like you, bro," Joe mentions and Oliver smiles, gently touching where she poked and his hand she touched.

She might like him.

The next week, Sara came in and Oliver had a cupcake and everything set for her. Sara saw and waved from the window as she passed by and came in quickly, greeting Oliver and Joe (who at this point was very instrumental to making Olivera a thing) and sat by where Oliver had it set up.

"Oli you have it all set up. You're so kind. Thank you. You even remembered that I like Nana's secret the most. When can I learn Nana's Secret?" Sara asks playfully.

"Only family knows Nana's Secret," Oliver says and when Joe mentions how it's very easy to become family by getting married, both Sara and Oliver turn red with embarrassment.

"Let's begin," Oliver says quickly and Sara nods fast, turning to her math chapter so they can get started. 

When they got up, a paper fell open from Oliver's shirt pocket and Sara grabbed it for him. 

"You dropped this Oli-" Sara said but cut off when she glanced at what it said:

Sara, Would you like to get Hotpot?

Yes [] No []

Oliver's eyes widened and quickly grabbed the paper, mumbling how she wasn't supposed to see that yet and Sara giggled. She liked how awkward Oliver was around her but she also thought it was charming.

Sara grabs the paper back from him and checks off the Yes box before handing it back to him.

"You're so awkwardly adorable Oliver. I'd love to." She says as she plants a kiss on the cheek and says she has to head home to cook for her dad. Oliver touched the spot where Sara kissed him, turning red and Sara smiled.

Joe pretended not to notice from the break room but on the inside, he was mentally jumping for Oliver. When Sara asked to get a cupcake for her dad, Joe went to help her but whispered to her before she paid

"You know he always does that Sara. Every poke, touch, or anything you do, he just grabs it like you set his skin on fire...in a good way. You make him happy. Thank you. It's on the house." and she glances to see him touching the spot she kissed and she smiles.

She was glad to wander into the cafe that faithful day.
