Battle of the Bands

Patrick, Joe, Sara, Vicky, and Tammy came out to support Oliver at his Battle of the Bands. They were finalists and the winners would get a very nice cash prize to split among band members a and contract to record a demo.

The crew arrived at the park, excited to see the Starfighters go against everyone. The judges get to vote and the audience vote is an extra, truly making a difference in the contest.

Patrick rambled about the food with Tammy and Joe and Vicky were talking about spots to get while Sara wondered where Oliver was.

"Probably with his band...talking to Skyler...and everyone else of course...but Skyler..." Sara thought about it as they walked. She knew they were close but she and Oliver were close too...right?

right?

Sara decided not to worry about that. She's here to support him and even if she didn't know if Oliver felt the same, she knew they were friends and she was going to be the best one she could be and that was to support him tonight.

Sara decided to text Oliver

To: Subway boy

SG: You got this Oli! We are all supporting you :)

SB: Thanks, Sara. It means more than you know that you are here

SB: That you all are here :)

SG: We wouldn't miss it. Now go get it!

"Sara come on! They are gonna be on soon!" Patrick says and grabs his best friend's hand before running with her to the park to catch up with everyone, Sara laughing in the process. The announcement said the Starfighters are next and as it wraps up, Sara hears her ringtone for Oliver going off.

Sara answers and Oliver sounds panicked.

"Sara, can you please come back by the stage?" Oliver asked, trying to sound calm but not doing a good job. Sara tells everyone she'd be back and came to see the band freaking out. Skyler is holding her stomach as her mates are trying to help her out.

"Woah, What happened to Skyler?" Sara asked panicked, but Oliver gently grabbed her shoulder and faced her towards him. 

"Sara, We're taking care of her but for now, I need you to listen to me. Skyler ate something bad and she won't be able to perform. I need you to take her place."

"OLI! I don't think I-"

"Sara, if you don't we have to forfeit. You know all our songs. You've come to multiple practices and even written our latest one. This means a lot to us and I don't want us to go out like this." Oliver says and he moves towards her hands and grabs them.

"Sar, I wouldn't be asking if we had no other option. I know you have never done this before but...please. I really need you right now. Please." Oliver said, eyes practically begging. Sara has never seen him like this before. He knew that Sara was the only one and without her, their hard work would go down the drain. She was truly their only hope otherwise everything would be instrumental.

Sara sighs and takes a deep breath. She knew she cared too much about Oliver to let this opportunity get taken away for him and his bandmates. Sara nods slowly and gently squeezes his hands.

"What do I need to sing?"

The band rejoices and hugs Sara and Skyler gives a thumbs up, thanking Sara for stepping in. She blames Erik and his cooking. He offered to cook her something since she was hungry and they were hanging out and it was just not sitting well with her stomach. As she watched Sara and Oliver talk, she knew she had lost Oliver. Not in a friendly way, but she knew that look anywhere. That look he only used to give her was now onto Sara. She sadly thinks about it as she feels her stomach hurts again. Skyler's mom is on her way to keep company so the band can perform.
