Olivara One Shot Book (The Kiss Bet)

3 Months (Part 2)

Sara woke up and felt nervous all over again. How is this going to go? She got ready for school and as she was eating breakfast, she heard Oliver's door close. She quickly said bye to her dad and met Oliver outside. Joe had already left so the plan could officially start and they began to walk together. 

"Got your love note?" Oliver asked and Sara nodded pulling hers out of her back pocket. Sara whispered to him and got closer.

"Do you think people will think it's believable if we don't hold hands or anything? I thought about that last night." Sara frowned and Oliver thought about it.

"Would you be okay with that? We probably wouldn't kiss unless you're comfortable but I could put my arm around you or by your waist. I could do a forehead kiss. I think those are nice yes?" Oliver asked, quickly glancing at the girl who was blushing as much as he was.

"Yeah I want to save lip kisses for Patrick but everything else seems okay. " She giggled. Oliver felt a pang and questioned it for a second before ignoring it.

Why would that bother him? He likes someone else.

They got to the school and stood in the middle of the hallway, some staring rudely at their awkward place in the hallway. Oliver looked up to ensure Patrick and Skyler were watching before nodding at Sara to start their plan. They exchanged notes and Oliver whispered something about bananas in her ear before Sara giggled and then kissed her forehead before heading to class. Sara blushed a bit as Oliver looked away.

Patrick's eyes widened at what happened while Skyler's eyebrow raised in confusion.

Bingo.

Sara went home and posted about Oliver before the day ended to make it official. She found a picture Joe took of them a while back joking around.

Days turned to weeks which turned into a month and eventually, everyone knew Olivara was the new couple. While some people mentioned that they called it, others such as Patrick and Skyler were completely blindsided. Skyler and Patrick asked so many questions and Oliver and Sara confidently answered. They both knew the plan was working.

One day into the second month, as they exchanged notes, Oliver mumbled that he wanted to write something different on his. They would write random things but Oliver wanted to give Sara good notes. He did appreciate her going into this crazy plan after all. Oliver gave her the usual forehead kiss and Sara looked at the note and gasped gently.

"I always love how you get excited over the small things. It makes me happy"

Sara blushed and smiled. She didn't know Oliver had this side. After school, They followed the same routine of balancing guitar lessons, going to dinner, tutoring, and getting to know each other. While they both wouldn't admit it yet, they were having more fun spending time together than they thought.

The next week, Sara gave Oliver a new note for him to smile at

"I love how you play guitar. You have so much love for it that it makes me excited to learn"

Oliver smiled and blushed a bit. He was glad Sara was enjoying the lessons.

As Sara was talking to Vicky, she kept going on and on about Oliver and what he was doing. Vicky watched in amusement as she explained how Oliver made her laugh so hard at lunch and how he looked so funny being focused. Vicky shook her head and smiled.

She knew Sara was into Oliver.  She hasn't talked about Patrick in ages.

Oliver was asked by Joe how his day went and he went into detail about Sara and her tutoring. He explained how she was improving at guitar and how happy he was about it. Joe smirked and shook his head. When he accidentally found the contract in his room, he knew it was more than a piece of paper and Oliver was never a good liar so when Joe asked if he liked Sara and Oliver stuttered, he knew Oliver was in deep.

On the second to last day of the third month, Oliver's phone rang and Sara's did too. When they picked up the phone, they both heard the same thing:

"Hey, can we talk?"

 Oliver and Sara agreed to meet in the morning as always and did their walk. Seeing as it was the last day, everything felt different. The hugs, forehead kisses, almost kisses, notes, and hand holding were a bit much for the last day, especially when they both realized that they liked each other.

"Sky called me yesterday..." Oliver trailed off and Sara nodded.

"Patrick called me too." Sara smiled small. Oliver's eyebrows raised but he shook his head. He knew what he was getting himself into and he needed to let Sara be happy.

"What'd he say?" Oliver asked as he pushed up his glasses.

"He was asking me if we could talk and then told me how these three months were hard for him to see. He didn't realize how much he liked me until we got together and he was asking me if there was any chance for him." Sara says in a breath. Her heart along with Oliver's was going a million a minute. It felt like a marathon was running in their minds and chests.

"Well, you got what you wanted. You can be with Patrick. Aren't you happy? Sky told me the same thing so..." Oliver trailed off. He was trying hard to not care but it was hard not to. He knew he liked Sara a lot and this conversation was just scary.

"Oh...I guess you're happy too then. You also got what you wanted. It worked out...yay!" Sara says as she does a small cheer. She knew she wasn't hiding it too well but she truly did like Oliver. She didn't think she'd catch this much feeling in 3 months. 

As they walked, Oliver looked towards the clouds and noticed that after a couple of steps, he was by himself and looked back to Sara who was looking at Oliver with so much emotion.

"No...I didn't get what I wanted Oliver" Sara said and Oliver looked at her confused. What does she mean? She is going to be with Patrick. That's what she wanted.

"Oliver, I want to keep being with you. I don't want to be with Patrick and if this isn't how you feel then at least I said it but...I like you, Oliver and I told Patrick that he lost his chance because I like you." Sara says with a small smile while Oliver blushes.

"I feel the same, Sara. I was too nervous to say it but...I like you too" He smiled.

They linked hands again, this time with more emotion than before and headed to school knowing that this time, they were truly with each other.
