"Just one night. We'll go to my old house, look for what I need, and then we will be gone by the morning." I tell Satoru, while packing an overnight bag.

"I promise." Satoru says, sitting at the table reading a magazine.

"And you guys better come back on time... I'm getting tired of being left out!" Shoko exclaims, sitting across from him.

"Of course, Shoko. I have no intention of staying there any longer than I need to." I reassure her.

I haven't been back since... that night. I never really thought of wanting to go back. I try to forget, but puzzle pieces of my memories always haunt me at the worst times. I'm not really sure what to expect, but if something hits the fan again, we are leaving as soon as possible.

I hope nobody recognizes me. I don't have time to explain what I'm up to these days. I wonder if anybody back home knew about my grandparents being sorcerers. My grandfather was a village hero, always at the right place at the right time. He was never shy to help somebody in need.

"Okay, I think I'm ready." I lie, knowing nothing could prepare me for being forced back into the house that haunts me.

It's a quiet, small village. Everybody knows everybody. It's dark outside, but the lives inside the houses spits life to the whole place. Children's laughter echoes out of windows, bringing a smile to my face.

"Happy to be home?" Satoru asks me, firmly grasping my hand in his.

"No, not really." I tell him, as we walk the gravel road that leads to my house.

We have yet to see a curse, but that doesn't surprise me. Nothing bad happens in places like this, what happened to my grandfather was just a very unlucky, tragic event. As we walk, there is a elderly lady sitting on her porch, hand weaving blankets. They're beautiful!

I stop Satoru on course, and approach the lady.

"Hello! How much for one of your blankets? I have a friend who would love one of these!" I ask the older lady, Shoko in mind. The elderly lady flashes me a gummy smile, and presents me a purple one.

"How much?" I ask again.

She shakes her head no, and places it into my hands.

"I couldn't take such a thing for free! Please, let me pay you!" I tell her, digging in my bag for some cash.

"Thank you so much" Satoru intervenes, bowing, and then ushering me towards him. He takes the blanket from my hands and starts back on the path. I bow to the lady, and wave my hand goodbye.

"We don't really have time for that, (y/n). We are here for a reason" Satoru tells me, grabbing for my hand again.

I don't really mind taking our time. Anything for us to delay arriving at the house my grandfather was murdered in.
