TW: CRINGE CRINGE!! BUT I FEEL ITS NECESSARY TO POTRAY MY CHARACTERS PROPER

December 22nd

"Happy birthday to you," I sing, walking over to my sweet boy who is seated on his father's shoulders. "Happy birthday dear, Megumi... happy birthday to you!" We finish, all of us clapping at the blushing boy. "Make a wish Gums!" I tell him, holding the cake with candles up to him. He thinks for a moment and then blows out the candles, causing us to cheer.

Today is Megumi's 7th birthday, and all of us gathered to celebrate. Gojo, Tsumiki, Nanami, Ijichi, Rukia, Shoko, and all of Megumi and Tsumiki's classmates. We are hosting at an event center in the city, with plenty of activities for all the kids. Megumi insisted on not having anything big, but we refused to not celebrate his first birthday with us. With Gojo's birthday being at the beginning of the month, we had a small get together. The kids told us that was the first time they had ever celebrated a birthday, meaning this is Megumi's first birthday party.

"What did you wish for?" Tsumiki asks Megumi, who is now seated at the end of the table. "Hey! You can't tell her Gumi, or it won't come true!" Gojo says, pulling the cake towards him and beginning to cut slices for everybody. "Aw! They are SO cute!" A drunken Shoko stumbles over, saying through a mouth full of pizza. "Shoko, remember there's other kids here." I whisper to her, poking her in the stomach. "I'm not even drunk!" She shouts, making me laugh. She has consumed at least five beers in the past hour and I don't want to even think about what she may have snuck in. I miss our nights out, and sleepovers, so I am over the moon that she could make it. "Hey... whos the new girl?" Shoko asks, pointing in the direction of Rukia.

"That's Rukia, a first year." I tell Shoko, passing her a slice of cake. "Well, she is awfully close to your man." She says, washing her pizza down with cake. "She's like 14!" I tell Shoko, giggling at what she was insinuating. "And she's a bit of a flight risk, that's why Gojo keeps her on a tight leash."

"Mama, can we go play now!" Tsumiki asks, running over with her brother and a group of their classmates. "Yes. One second." I tell her, looking around to choose someone to supervise them while we finish up here. "Nanami! Come." I yell towards the table, Nanami rises and walks over. "Can you watch them play?" I ask him, he nods and drags a once seated Ijichi along with him.

"Babe! This cake is amazing, where did you get it?" Gojo yells from the table. I grab Shoko's hand and walk over to him and Rukia. "Just the normal market. Your kids are out there playing, if you want to join them while we clean up." I tell Gojo, referring to Shoko and I. "No, no. We will help!" Gojo says, stuffing the last piece of cake into his mouth and rising. "No, it's okay. I'm sure Nanami and Ijichi could use the help." I insist, ushering them out of the room.

"Hey! I don't wanna clean!" Shoko shouts. "Fine. At least drink some water though, we can't have you drunk at a children's party." I tell her, beginning to pick up the dirty plates from around the room. "You know, (y/n), you and Satoru are really adorable." She says, spreading her body out on a bench. "Yeah? You think so?" I tell her, opening up a new trash bag. "Yeah, I really do... When are you guys gonna have your own?" She says, making me laugh. "Don't you think we have a few more steps to get through before that?" I ask her through my giggles. "What do you mean? You guys are basically married, and literally have your own family. Nothing outlandish about it." Shoko says, sitting up. "I mean, maybe you're right...," I ponder for a second, imagining something deeper than what we have now. "But my career is just getting started, and we still have so much time."
