She hurt Megumi... I wasn't there to protect him. Now she has Kai. If she's willing to knock out a teenager, then what would she do to Kai? How could I let any of this happen... How could I be selfish enough to keep her a secret?
"Kai, Sweetie! Where are you?!" I yell while running down the halls. I've thrown every flat door open, every closet, every classroom. I have found nothing. Rukia only revealed her cursed energy to reveal what she did to Megumi, but she has resorted back to her technique of hiding it.
It's been ten minutes since Satoru took off for the Higher- Ups, and I worry that Rukia might hurt the other students who are too focused on their event. "Kai! If you can hear me please say something! Don't be scared!" I continue to yell.
"Stop."
My wrist is grabbed and I am spun around to meet the rock hard chest of Satoru. "She's not here." He says, and then points out the window. It faces the forest that the students are competing in, but it's blurred by an orange barrier. It consumes the entire forest, leaving no points of entry for the staff.
"It's hers. Faculty is trying to evacuate the students, but it's keeping them out." He says, which causes my heart to drop. Instead of responding, I make a run towards the forest. I'm sure that the principals have already made a plan, but I can't risk anything happening to the innocent children who are trapped. To my sons. My student's faces flash in my mind. I already let Megumi get hurt, I can't allow them to face her wrath as well.
I didn't even have time to ask him about the Higher- Ups, all I care about is getting inside of that barrier.
As I approach the border, there is already a crowd of teachers and staff formed around it. "I just lost contact with my birds, I have no idea what's happening inside of there." I hear Mei Mei tell Utahime. Utahime gives her a defeated look, as Yaga pounds on the outside of it. "Dammit!" He shouts, realizing the strength that it holds. "If we apply enough pressure, we may be able to break through." Principal Gakuganjji tells him.
"It seems that she's made some kind of binding vow to strengthen it." Satoru says, catching up to me. "So we should all just keep delivering blows. It won't be able to hold against all of us." I say, and take a step closer to it. Through the sheer orange tint, I can make out the trees and surrounding area. "It's worth a try." Utahime says, but before she can form a fist, I'm already throwing my entire body weight onto it.
