"I'm so sorry. I promise that we will talk to him. Nothing like this will ever happen again." I explain to the principal of Megumi and Tsumiki's school. Megumi was in a physical altercation with a classmate, leading to a parent- teacher conference.

Megumi was never physically violent, only arguing verbally with his sister here and there. Disappointment is an understatement. It's been three months since they have started school, which means he should be well adjusted to his classmates and schedule. Tsumiki has had no issues, always walking out with a new group of friends, Megumi usually follows closely behind her. Perhaps that's the reason for the disruptive behavior, jealous that his sister is branching out... Or maybe he's just having a hard time making friends in general.

"(Y/n) is right. We will talk to him." Gojo chimes in, trying to be as serious as possible. "He's suspended from school for three days, if he has another incident we may have to rethink his enrollment here." The principal says, wearing a stern face. "Of course. Yes, I completely agree." I lie, knowing that Megumi is just misunderstood and this altercation must have a deeper meaning.

Gojo and I rise from her office chairs, and make our way out into the lobby area. There sits Tsumiki, annoyed with her brother's behavior, and a bruised up Megumi. "Let's go." Gojo says in a disciplinary voice. The kids stand and lock hands with me. Gojo has a serious look, knowing that Megumi will have a talk when we get home. It's odd seeing Gojo like this, he never is the one to discipline or ground the children... but he seems to be taking this pretty seriously. Megumi didn't say a word the entire walk home, unlike his sister who is eager for dinner. We arrive back at the flat and I instruct Tsumiki to go play for a bit, while Gojo directs Megumi to sit on the couch.

"Do you realize what you did, Megumi?" Gojo asks the child on the couch. Megumi stays silent, not answering. "If you're not going to speak then you're losing TV privileges, which also means your sister won't be able to watch TV." Gojo goes on, knowing a threat towards his sister will make him talk. "I know what I did." Megumi finally says.

"Then why would you feel the need to hurt somebody?" I add on, still unaware of what caused his outburst. "Johnathan told me my real dad left me because I was weird." Megumi says, arms crossed and avoiding eye contact. I look at him confused, unaware why somebody would say such a thing. That kid probably overhead his parents, why do people have to be so cruel!

"No, Megumi... that's not why your dad left. He left because he was the weird one." Gojo says, kneeling down to meet his eyes. "And he said that you and Mama don't actually want me... that you only feel bad for me." Megumi goes on.

"HUH?" Gojo starts, widening his eyes. "Who is this kid? Where can I find him-"

"No, Megumi. That is far from the truth." I cut Gojo off, even though I'm also enraged that some kid would have the nerve. "Mama and Papa took you and your sister with us because we wanted to give you a better life. Nobody was forcing us to do that." I continue, sitting beside him on the couch. "We feel bad for a lot of people, but why would we feel bad for some spoiled rotten kids who get everything they want." Gojo says, patting Megumi's head. This warrants a giggle from the sweet boy.

Gojo is right though, the entire time we have been their guardians we have given the kids every single thing they ask for. From new toys, to clothes, to games, nothing is too much for them.

"But listen kid, you can't just fight somebody any time they make you mad. If that was the case then I would be in jail." I explain. "And you can get Mama and Papa in trouble for stuff like that, and the last thing we want is for you to be taken away from us." I tell Megumi, wrapping my arm around his shoulder. "I will apologize tomorrow." Megumi says.

"Well actually, you're suspended for three days. Which means you can't go back until next week." Gojo tells him, standing up. "So three days with us." I tell him, also standing and making my way over to the kitchen. "And it's not gonna be fun." I add on. "Okay. I get it." Megumi says, making a sour face. The boy stands from the couch, and makes his way into his bedroom with his sister. She is playing with dolls, and I assume will force him to play with her. That's punishment enough.
