"Megumiiiii!" Gojo yells towards the kid's room. "Let's get going!" Megumi runs from his room. Gojo has been training Megumi any chance he can get, trying to get as much time as he can in before the school year. We play the waiting game on his technique, hoping it will come to light before the end of summer. "Sunscreen, please." I tell Gojo as he packs a bag to take. They train down at the field, and will spend hours down there. He nods, and throws Megumi on his back. Meanwhile, Tsumiki and I chat on the couch watching our favorite show. "Don't stay out too late." I call out to them. "We won't!" Megumi squeals from Gojo's back. We hear the door shut, and resume watching our show from the sofa.
School starts in a week, and frankly I am a bit nervous for my new job. Over the past two months, Gojo, the kids, and I have developed a routine. Teacher workshops have picked up to twice a week, meaning twice a week we invite Shoko or Nanami over to supervise the kids while we are away. One to two days a week Gojo will take on a mission, meaning I spend the day with the kids. On our off days, we usually relax and Gojo takes Megumi to train. The kids are adjusting well, considering they have never had a real routine for as long as they can remember. With them finally being accustomed to the groove of things, school starting might throw them off. New schedules and routine, and I am nervous how they will react to being away from us for extended periods of time.
The week we have ahead of us is fully booked, so I am trying to spend the day relaxing.
Tomorrow I have to take the kids to the city to get their supplies for the year, as well as their routine vaccinations. Gojo was able to handle registering them at the local grade school, so now we just need to fill in the other things we have on our list. Tuesday, Gojo has a mission. Wednesday and Thursday we have our final courses before school starts next week.
"Are you excited to start school, Tsumiki?" I ask her, playing with her brown locks. "Mm, yes... but are Megumi and I going to be in the same class?" I smile, still twiddling her hair with my fingers. "Of course, Papa already worked that out with your teacher." I tell her, causing a look of relief to take over her face. "And tomorrow, we are going shopping for the supplies you guys will need during school." She smiles at me, looking forward to our trip to the city. "Can I get pink notebooks? Maybe we can find some with glitter too!" I nod my head, taking a mental note of what she is interested in.
Tsumiki is your average little girl, despite the trauma her and Megumi had to endure, inside is just a normal 7 year old girl. She is all into pink, glitter, makeup, clothes, and she enjoys the things I did at her age. Gojo and I talk a lot about how we are going to raise them, especially since Megumi is bound to be a student here some day. Though the "normal" one, the life we plan to give Tsumiki is a bit more complicated. With her knowing and being involved in the Jujutsu Society, she is still at risk of outside forces, more now that Satoru Gojo is her legal guardian.
I excuse myself from the couch, leaving the show on for Tsumiki. I make my way to the kitchen, and begin preparing dinner for the boys who will come back with an appetite. Pasta with chicken is so far Megumi's favorite, and something that Tsumiki tolerates and ALMOST enjoys. Since we had tacos last night, her favorite, it's Megumi's turn to cook for.
I am just barely finishing setting the table when the door opens. Megumi runs in, Gojo following, and right before the door closes, a small white dog walks through. My eyes widen and I give Gojo a look of pure anger. "I can explain." Gojo says, but is interrupted by Megumi's voice. "Mama! This is my puppy!" He shouts, picking up the dog. I turn my attention back to Gojo. "Then explain." I tell him, turning my head and smiling. "Megumi's cursed technique is Ten Shadows... and this white puppy is one of Megumi's Shikigamis." He says, clapping his hands while Megumi jumps up and down. "He- he got his technique...? and this fast?" I ask him, my anger now turning into happiness for my son. "Well, we have been practicing hand symbols for the past month so you can say he is moving at an overwhelming rate!" Gojo says, swooping up Megumi and doing a happy dance.
