March 1st

Time has really begun to fly. The kids are almost done with their first year in school, Nanami and Ijichi are about to graduate, I'm almost done with my first year of teaching, and my mission suspension has officially been lifted. The past few weeks, a majority of Gojo and I's curriculum is strict field practice. Of course, it benefits the students... but frankly it's mostly because of the fact that I needed to train as well.

March first is not just another start of the month, today we are assigned missions. Normally, I am just the one to relay the messages to my students, but today my name will also be on the list. I'm a bit weary, mostly just nerves from my previous missions. "Mommm!!" I am interrupted from the anxiety by my son screaming for me from his room. I jump from the bed, throwing the covers from my body. "Megumi?" Gojo says, jolting up from his side of the bed.

We run to the kid's room, Megumi's yell was different from the ones he has when he's sick or arguing with his sister. I slam the door open, scared of what may have induced the yell. Instead of Megumi being in trouble, he's standing at the head of his bed. "Megumi, what happened?" I say, rushing to his side. Gojo follows behind me, scooping him from the ground. Megumi isnt crying, only looks scared. Tsumiki is still sound asleep, the yell didn't wake her from the deep slumber she's in.

Gojo walks Megumi to the living room. "What happened, Gumi?" I ask him. Gojo places him next to him on the couch. "I had a bad dream." He mumbles, laying his head onto my lap. "About what?" Gojo asks him, his face changing from tense to relieved now that he knows Megumi is okay. "I had a dream that they took away my puppies." He whispers out. "Aw, Meg." I say ruffling his hair. "Nobody is gonna take away your dogs." I tell him, making him sit up from my lap. "That's not all." He goes on.

"They took away my dogs and they sent me away from you, and dad, and Miki." He says to me, as tears begin to form in his eyes. I pull him into my chest, and look over to Gojo who now wears a concerned expression. "Who took them?" Gojo says while rubbing Megumi's back. "I- I don't know." Megumi whispers out. "It's okay." I tell him, still playing with his hair. "It's not time for school yet, get some rest." I tell him, picking him back up and carrying him to his room. I tuck him back in, next to his sister, and exit the room.

"That's odd." Gojo says as I slowly shut the door. "Indeed." I say back, walking into the kitchen. "Coffee?" I ask him. He nods his head, probably still thinking about Megumi's dream. "It's not that serious, kids have weird dreams all the time." I tell him, breaking him from his thoughts. "I guess." He says in a dry tone. I set a coffee cup in front of him, and he takes a small sip. "You ready for your mission?" He asks, looking at me. "I would say so, mainly ready to just get it over with." I tell him, taking a sip from my own coffee cup.

"Think I'll be solo, or have a partner?" I ask him, still nervous about whatever tasks they'll put me up to today. "Don't know, I doubt we'll get assigned together." He answers, stirring more nerves in the pit of my stomach. "Conflict of interest, you know now that you're my fiance or whatever." Gojo giggles, trying to lighten the mood I'm in. I laugh back, and find a spot in his lap.

"Alrighty then, let's see what we got today." I say to the full class. For mission assignments Gojo and I put all the students into my classroom, considering we are only going to be here for a limited amount of time. Gojo slides the black binder over to him. "Nanami, you got a mission in the city." Gojo says, reading from the binder. "Shouldn't take too long, no curse higher than a second grade is listed here." He says, popping a sugar cube into his mouth. Nanami nods, and heads for the door. "Be safe!" I yell out to him. "Satoru?" Ijichi says, standing from his chair. "Yes, Ijichi?" Gojo says, still looking at the binder. "I actually have an appointment today... so may I be excused from missions." Ijichi says, a very blatant lie. "Well, there's no assignment for you anyways." Gojo laughs, seeing through Ijichi's attempt at deceiving.
