Rukia.

I'm not surprised by her presence, I should have expected her to stay somewhere she is able to cling onto Satoru. It's just another slap in my face, another challenge that is going to stunt the growth of my family. I glare at her for a moment, and she instinctively stares back. The two seconds that we exchanged glances felt like a million years, but the rest of the staff didn't seem to notice.

I rule out sitting beside Satoru, and slide into a seat next to Shoko. "Good to see you" She whispers to me, but I don't respond. I'm still ridiculously bothered that she didn't tell me about Tsumiki. "Okay, Ms. Scholar." She jokes, noticing that I am not responding. "We'll talk later." I whisper to her, not making eye contact.

"Well, now that we have everybody," Yaga begins at the front of the work room.

"We are expecting a buzzing school year. The turn out numbers for both Kyoto and Tokyo are the highest that we have had in years. We will be welcoming three new first year students, who will be taught by Satoru. And then a whooping four second year students, each of the second year students choosing to return. Those students will be taught by (Y/n), who is making a return to Jujutsu Tech.

Rukia and Satoru are seated to the side of us, giving me a clear shot of their faces. When Yaga brings up my name, Rukia's hand shoots up. "Yes, Rukia?" Yaga says, and Rukia turns her head. "I was under the impression that I would be teaching the second years, since that was my assignment last year." She says, putting on a prissy voice for Yaga.

Last year? How long has she been employed here? She only graduated a few years ago.

"Well, things are changing this year due to us receiving an experienced teacher. Since there were no second years last year, you had no hands-on experiences, and the Higher-Ups felt more comfortable having (Y/n) and her technique in the classroom." Yaga tells her, and she makes a sour face. She looks over to Satoru, and then back to Yaga. "Then what grade will I be teaching? How am I supposed to get experience if I'm being replaced?" She asks, her prissy

voice turning into an annoyed one.

"If you would have allowed me to get there, you would know that you'd be teaching third year students, in case we receive any transfer students from the Kyoto campus. Kusikabe will be teaching the fourth year students, but will focus on missions this year." Yaga says, and I smirk at his response.

"But, if you're worried about experience, you are more than welcome to shadow Satoru or (Y/n) in their classrooms." Yaga continues. I roll my eyes at the idea of her shadowing me, but I'm sure she would rather hang out with her little crush anyway.

"Now, let's talk about the incoming students." Yaga says, and then passes around some folders. I look over and see student files, four which I've already read. "(Y/n), your student files are enclosed alongside the first year's. Toge, Panda, Maki, and Yuta, are all returning students, so we will take this time to talk about the new first years."
