I lay on the bed with my head hanging over the edge of it as I use the new phone that Kol had gotten me. The sleek touchscreen felt cool against my fingertips as I scrolled through the various apps, each one holding a world of its own.

Just then, my bedroom door creaked open. Kol stood there, his silhouette etched against the dim light of the hallway. His tall frame leaned lazily on the door frame, his hands folded casually against his chest.

"If I knew giving your own phone would mean I would never see you again, I might have reconsidered," Kol said, his voice laced with a teasing tone. He took a step into the room, his eyes never leaving mine. A mischievous smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

I sat up and placed the phone beside me on the bed, grinning back at him.

"Is that so?" I challenged, cocking a brow as I continue to look at him while my head now sits on the edge of the bed, "Were you perhaps feeling a little lonely without me?"

Kol only raised an eyebrow, his smirk deepening. He pushed away from the doorframe and made his way towards me. His footsteps were light against the carpeted floor, the dim light from the hallway casting long shadows under his high cheekbones and sharp jawline.

As Kol approached, I couldn't help but feel a familiar flutter in my chest.

There was something about his presence that always made my heart race and my cheeks flush. His eyes, a mesmerizing shade of hazel, seemed to hold secrets I longed to discover.

Kol plants his hands on the side of me and leans down, his face inches from mine.

The air between us crackled with anticipation, and I could feel his warm breath against my skin. His eyes searched mine, as if trying to decipher every hidden thought and desire that lay within me.

"Is there a reason you have come to bother me, other than to mock my new phone addiction?" I asked, trying to maintain a playful tone despite the growing intensity in the room.

Kol's smirk widened, and he brushed a strand of hair away from my face. His touch sent shivers down my spine and made my heart skip a beat.

"I came to bother you so I could see that beautiful smile of yours that always brightens up my day," Kol admitted, his voice filled with sincerity.

His words sent a surge of warmth through me, melting away any remaining playfulness. I reached up and cupped his cheek, my fingertips grazing the stubble on his jawline. A soft sigh escaped my lips as I leaned into his touch, savoring the sensation of his skin against mine.

Without breaking eye contact, Kol leaned in closer, his lips hovering millimeters away from mine. The intoxicating scent of his cologne filled my senses, a comforting blend of spice and the woods.

"I knew sending you to fetch Astrid was a bad idea," Elijah tuts as he walks into the room, effectively shattering the intimate moment. Kol jerked back, a flicker of irritation crossing his features before being replaced by his usual smirk.
