I wake up feeling the spot next to me....empty except for a note left on the pillow. I fold it open a grin already spreading wide on my face as I read.

Sunny, got called early for a case. I've set a timer to brew your coffee, it should be ready when you wake. Stop stressing, use this time to relax. I left you a surprise on the counter.
Spence

I roll into a stretch before slipping out of bed the smell of coffee fills my house. I've been stressed and anxious for days. Three days ago was Spencer's appointment where he didn't get the news he wanted. He spent that entire afternoon lying in my arms as he cried. It was heartbreaking.

To top it off I've been physically sick from anxiety about getting pulled off a case. It goes without saying I should be medicated.....so I'm seeing a psychologist today. I know it's shocking but between the trauma of my parents and the job I do, I'm pretty much becoming an actual adult and trying to get my life together so I can be the person Spence needs.

I drink my coffee as I run around the house getting ready for the day. My psychologist appointment is in an hour which gives me enough time to watch an episode of friends to calm my nerves. Talking about my trauma is like asking me to quit drinking coffee cold turkey. It makes me more than uncomfortable.

This psychologist comes highly recommended and his office is conveniently in between my house and the BAU. Now that I'm actually standing in front of the four floor medical plaza I'm starting to second guess this whole mentally stable Sunny thing.

I dial Spence, only two rings before he picks up.

"You're standing outside the building second guessing your choices aren't you?" Even if he's being sassy right now, his voice is already calming me down which is why I called him.

"I missed you to" I tease him.

"You can tell him as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.....on an unrelated note, did you get your surprise this morning?" He questions taking my mind off the inevitable.

"Yes I'm already 160 pages in. Which doesn't seem like a lot to someone who can read 20,000 words per minute but basically your girlfriend is in fact a superhero." I state.

"My girlfriend is amazing, in fact I was just about to tell her that her appointment starts in five minutes and she should start walking inside the building she's currently staring at."

"Okay. I'll quit stalling. I lo......" I freeze for a moment. Shit how do I fix this. I'm two seconds away from word vomit.

"You what?" He questions.
