I knew Sunny was in a good mood the moment I entered our home and heard her music blaring from the kitchen. She usually cleans while listening to music, I had errands that needed to be done, or at least that's what I told Sunny.
Instead I met up with Garcia, Prentiss, and JJ as they tried to help me with last minutes things that needed to be settled before the big day, or as Garcia calls it "P" Day. Two weeks is not nearly as long as it seems.
I slowly walk through our living area before making my way through the hall that brings you to the kitchen where I see Sunny dancing and singing enthusiastically with a mop her back turned to me oblivious. I lean against the door frame enjoying her show.
"And our cheeks can brush....our lips can touch....here....." she suddenly stops on the pause before resuming her dancing as she swings the mop wildly, swaying her hips. "Well, you are the one, the one that lies close to me. Whispers, hello I miss you quite terribly. I fell in love, in love with you suddenly...now there's no place else I could be, but here in your arms...." she turns around her eyes meeting mine in surprise before her smiles grows.
She dances over to me grabbing a hold of my hand pulling me into the middle of our kitchen. We bounce and dance to the beat, our hands intertwined together.
"Our lips can touch.....our lips can touch....here....." I sing with her as the beat gradually grows before Sunny throws her hands in the air and spins around giggling.
I couldn't look away from her, she is incandescently beauitful. It was literally impossible not to love her. I've never met a person who could physically light up any room they walked in, until I met her. Her laughter was infectious, her words like wildfire, her intellect was like the rarest gemstone, and her smile....the kind of smile that would be cruel not to kiss.....
And even that feels like an understatement.
I was so tragically in love, the kind that made you drunk off each other. The way we laughed. The way we kept stealing glances even though we knew the other one was looking. The way our hands brush with a subtle calm excitement. Even from a distance you could see we found one another utterly intoxicating.
I have no idea if this is normal, if it's like this for everyone else. All I do know is that each day it gets closer to proposing is another day my body is overwhelmed with nervous energy. There's a chance she could say no. It's a small percentage. Nearly one in four women have rejected at least one proposal during their life.....Emily smacked the back of my head when I mentioned the prospects of Sunny turning me down, followed by JJ and Garcia calling me the smartest idiot they've ever met.
She pauses the music before her arms wrap lazily around my neck. Those pale green eyes taking my breath away.
"Okay soon to be birthday boy. Are we doing a family dinner at our house or do you want to do something just the two of us?" She asked me with giddy excitement.
