"Hey I'm sorry I'm late. I got hung up with something. What do we got?" Rossi says jogging into the room in a hurry. Normally I would point out that I'm actually on time today, but I know exactly where Rossi was this morning. Having breakfast with Carolyn his first wife, out of all the wives she was probably my favorite only because she was around when I lived with him for a bit. She was caring, which was something I needed desperately at that time.

"A child abduction in St. Louis." Hotch answers him standing behind Spence.

"Yeah. Bobby Smith 9 years old, vanished 48 hours ago from a residential area, where his mother, Marlene Smith, claims to have dropped him off." Pen informs us, my stomach knotting.

"48 hours and we're just learning about it now?" Derek states looking over the papers in front of him.

"Yeah. That's cause Mom didn't know her son was gone. She assumed that he was with the grandmother and just left him there." Pen says, the anger in my chest building. What kind of mother just leaves her kid like that. Did she even stop the car before she forced him out of it.

"So, she's not exactly on the short list for mother of the year." JJ says sarcastically.

"Yeah more like piece of shit I would like to throat pun....."

"Finnegan. Language." Hotch warns me as I stop immediately. I look over to Spence his gaze quickly darting away from mine. He's been so weird the last few days and I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what's wrong.

"What about the father?" Emily questions stealing me away from my thoughts.

"Uh, he was convicted of embezzling from his workplace 2 years ago. Currently cooling his heels in state prison." Pen explains.

"If it's a stranger abduction, the first 24 hours are critical. This kid's already been missing twice that long." Spence says my gaze falling back on him. Doubt started to seep into my mind.

"Which is why we shouldn't waste anymore time. Let's go." Hotch tells us.

My mind starts running wild trying to recall the moment Spence started acting stranger than normal. What I could have done wrong. What I might have said that possibly upset him......It's been so long since I've heard my mother's voice inside my head....I hate going to this place, where I feel less than.

Spence grabs my hand in his, calming the raging storm inside my head. Our gaze meeting.

"You okay?" He questions....how could I even believe that this man doesn't love me, when all he has to do is look at me and knows something's wrong.

Maybe I'm just overreacting. My mother always said I had a flare for dramatics and overreactions. I'm probably just reading into something that isn't there.

"I'm okay."

He gives me a look that borders on concern and uncertainty but he doesn't push. He accepts what I'm willing to give leading me towards our desk to grab our go bags.
