I'm not quite sure what happened after drinking that drink but every thing went a bit funny. The people dancing made me dance with them and normally I would say no but tonight I was so happy. Cara's brother gave me more and more and every time winked at Cara. He was funny. It looked like he had a nervous twitch. I don't know where Danny went. Every now and then I see him across the room and he would smile at me and I would wave back.
There are so many people and the music is so loud. It's makes my heart pound. The word pound is funny. It means so many different things..
I giggle.
"Pound," I say aloud.
"What?" Cara asks confused.
"Pound," I accent the 'o' and giggle again.
"Come this way," Cara yells over the music.
I nod my head and laugh as she pulls me across the room. I see Maddi and Luke continuing their make out and as walk pass them I yell, "Luke looks like he should be in a band."
Cara just rolls her eyes which makes me laugh.
"Sit," she orders and I collapse onto her bed with a giggle.
"That Danny was cute," I sigh.
"Yeah," Cara mumbles.
"How long have you to been together," I say slurring my words with a bit of a random giggle between.
"No" She says. "Not together. Just friends..."
"Oh," I smile and bite my lip.
She starts to talk about some warehouse and just think about that word 'pound.' The more I think about it the weirder it gets. 'Pound.'
"Are you even listening to me?" She sighs.
"Pound," I pop into her face before giggling hysterically.
"Yeah, yeah," Cara sighs. "Why were you at the warehouse?" She asks.
I have to think about this. Why was I...
"Why won't you tell me why you were there?" She repeats.
Then I remember. That warehouse.
"You never told me why you were there either?" I exclaim with unclear words that are mushed together like potato next to steak.
"What do you expect of me Aria? You know what I'm like! But you, why?"
"Why do you want to know why I was there anyway?" I ask curiously.
"People like you don't just hang around in old abandoned warehouses in the middle of the night!"
She has a point. It's not something I would do.
It suddenly goes quiet and Cara stands up and tip toes to the door. Then suddenly a ringleader falls in.
Liv.
She is the ringleader of all ringleaders.
Her too short shirt reveals her belly button and shows off her cleavage. Liv is just one of 'those' girls.
"We're you listening to us?!" Cara exclaims.
"All gossip is good gossip," she mumbles brushing herself off.
For some reason I want her to stay. I want her to sit with us.
"Come in!" I yell.
Cara objects quickly but I insist. They both give in.
"You are Liv aren't you?" I say with hiccups.
"Yes," she answers firmly.
"This is Cara," I answer trying to hold my head up.
"I know."
"She gave me something and now I feel a bit funny."
I hold my stomach.
"You gave her alcohol?!" Liv exclaims to Cara.
She just shrugs her shoulders.
"Wow," she rolls her eyes. "The freak gets creepier."
"Shut up," Cara laughs.
All of a sudden they burst out into sudden bicker and it makes my head rings.
"Stop," I mumble. "Stop!"
They continue anyway. I know how I get hem to stop.
"I went to get a private detective," I mumble.
That shut them up.
"Huh?" Liv mumbles.
"Last night I went to the warehouse to pay for a private detective. Then I saw Cara and she was arrested."
I hiccup.
"Oh," Cara mumbles with a victory smile. "Why?"
I hiccup and everything becomes vague.
"My friend, India, wrote everything down as it happened," I start. "One day she just... Poof...died and now... I want the journal but I can't find it. I needed help."
They stare at me blankly and I can hear the doof doof of the music faintly.
"Well," I break the silence. "Why were you?"
I stare at Cara and change the subject, not wanting anymore questions.
"I answered and now it's your go," I cross my arms. "It's only fair."
