I overhear her telling Olivia that's she has food poisoning and know she's lying. Food poisoning my ass. Remembering the look of her tired frame, I make my way to the kitchen. Looking around I find heaps of empty protein bar wrappers, and an empty bread bag with nothing but the crusty first and last slice left. My suspicions were confirmed.
How could she do this to herself? My question was somewhat answered when I heard yelling and screaming from the next room. Aria does not deserve to live like this. So I make a snap decision and call my dad.
"Hello? Cara?"
"Yeah it's me dad I was wondering if I could have a friends tag with us for a while?" I ask praying that he would say yes.
"What friend? Why?"
"Aria,do you remember her?"
"Yeah she seemed nice"
"Well her parents aren't nice to her at all and I'm scared she's hurting herself because of them" I explain, hoping he would hear the desperation in my voice.
"Cara, I can't just say yes. I need her parents permission and her permission. Have you even asked her?" He asks.
"That's the thing her parents don't give a shit!! They won't care if she's gone, so please...please dad do this for her" I beg, praying to every god that will listen.
"Okay. Okay Cara she can stay" My dad says sighing.
"Thankyou, thankyou. This will be for the best!" I scream into the receiver before running upstairs and bursting into Arias room.
Upon my arrival Olivia and Aria both turned watching me curiously but I payed no attention to either of them as I skipped into Arias walk in wardrobe to get her suitcases out.
"Cara? What are you doing?" Aria asks unsurely.
"Packing" I answer shortly before grabbing arm fulls of Arias clothing and dumping them into the suitcases.
"Why? What are you doing?" Olivia asks as well.
"Packing, you could help instead of just standing around watching me"i answer now done with the wardrobe and move onto the dresser.
"Cara stop" Aria says placing a hand on my arm and pulling me so I faced her instead of the stacks of clothes.
"Cara what are you doing and answer me this time" Aria says firmly.
"I don't think this is the best place for you, so I called my dad and asked him if you could stay with me. He said yes so I came up here and started packing for you. Now that we are up to speed are you going to help?" I say not giving her a chance to argue.
"Cara I can't just leave" Aria says.
"I actually agree with Cara, your not appreciated and loved here. Your not even treated like a human. Cara is giving you a way out, I think you should take it" Olivia says, surprising both Aria and I.
"Alright. Lets do this" Aria finally resigns.
So the three of us work like crazy ass people as we zoom around Arias large room, stuffing her life into suitcases and boxes until the room was nothing but a empty space.
"Omg I'm really leaving" Aria says breaking the quietness.
"How do you feel about that" Olivia asks from the right of her.
"Great, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Like I can finally be me" she answers.
"Okay well we better get moving and settled into your new home!!" I say, before grabbing some of the boxes of the floor and making my way downstairs, with Olivia following me with boxes soon after. Leaving Aria in her childhood room alone for perhaps the last time.
"This will be good for her. Your doing a good thing" Olivia says suddenly.
"Yeah?" I reply unsure of everything now.
"Yeah" she replies before placing the last box in the car and climbing into the backseat, leaving the front one for Aria.
Aria soon comes out of the home, with her final boxes and suitcases, looking like she was struggling with all the events that have occurred today.
"Are you okay?" I ask unsure of how she was feeling now.
"Yeah it's weird, I feel this weight lifted of my shoulders and this light bubbly sensation in my stomach" Arias says placing the rest of her stuff in my car.
"That's called happiness Aria, you deserve to feel that way your whole life and it saddens me that you aren't used to that feeling" I reply, looking at her sympathetically. She suddenly hugs me catching me off guard.
"Thankyou" she whispers.
"For what?" I ask
"Saving me"
